Very objective view from the official website. Gives Keano a bit of a bashing for wastefulness.

it is a problem with Keane and Kanoute, put them in against lesser opposition as a partnership and they will miss chances. Was the story of last season and it's not good enough.
At least some goals were scored by people other than strikers for a change.

K & K didn't really look up for it today. Kanoute did some good things (like setting up both Keane and El Hamdaoui).
The best players for me were El Hamdaoui, Lennon and Huddlestone. Davenport and Dawson looked good at the back, Marney was ok but better going forwards, Jackson was a mess at LB and Carrick was decent but not great.

Jackson should have left the club ages ago.

A mess against Aldershot. Oh dear
El Hamdaoui has a great future

Mouney needs to learn not to rush. Other than that, he has a great future at the club. I would go as far as saying that he'll be better than Reto.

Oh yeah, i forgot his first name for a minute. I'm sure he will make his first team debut sometime this season, he seems to have good control and is a goalscorer.

...No, that'll be Mounir el Hamdaoui. Marney has gone to Norwich on a season long loan. Damn shame that is.

...do you reckon Mounir El Hamdaoui is going to be a LM. He played there on Sunday. Thus Ziegler moving to lb and being cover for the LM, Leaving mournir and reidy to fight it out?

I personally hope not just yet, i would prefer it to be Reid or Ziegler for now and El Hamdaoui being 5th choice striker but im sure Jol has other ideas.
I wouldnt be surprised if it is going to be Reid & Mournir though.

Did you lot know that Reidy has so many haters! I can't believe it. It's not just on THBN either.
I think he's great and can get better. Many say that he's fat, but then so is Rooney and so was Gazza, so I can't understand that reasoning.
How do you lot feel?

It was more of an own goal to be fair. The shot was barely going to reach the goal-line and it was going wide anyway!
PoshSpur: Yeah, he's regularly slated on other forums. It's mainly for his weight to be honest and that he's not as tricky as Routledge. I think he can be a great player for us and Jol has him working in a good position (he gets him to tuck inside a lot and play from there, with the full-back giving some width). Just the same way Beckham often plays.

He really needs to build up some upper-body weight, and then he can practise his shooting.

Carrick is a player that goes un-noticed in games then you go and look at the highlights and note he was involved in all the action.

Totally agree with this point on Carrick. He does the simple things well, he is positionally very strong when the opposition has the ball, just look how much pay he breaks up by picking off passes. Just wish he had a bit more pace.

If Carrick had any kind of scoring ability, he'd be one of the best midfielders in the league.
