One week away, and it's time to start planning our attack. I make no promises (mainly because I haven't heard back from cdngunnerbob yet) but, there's a chance that the Arsenal America banner will be making it's triumphant return to US soil at the Dark Horse on August 7.

Even if the banner doesn't make it back across the Atlantic in time, I'll be there, and that should be more than enough reason for you to be too. (I'm looking at you ScottyUS!!!!)

While we all of course hope we lose this match, it's still the unofficial kickoff of the season, and it's against the hated Chelski scum. There are a lot of "Philly Blues", so we'll need to make sure we're out in full force as well.

Anyone interested in trying to meet up - hit me with your rythmn stick... er, no, I mean, hit me up on email @

Well, there's like 5 of us, if that constitutes "a lot". I'll be there, look for me with my Gooner-loving trivia partner.

I just seem to remember quite a few Blues last time...

See you there!

I kinda like that description of me, much better than that sig you had last month about you being the brains, or something ridiculous like that.

I'm only 5 blocks from the Dark Horse and I watched a few matches there last season so I should be there, but I absolutely will not eat the blood sausage again...

Won't be there this weekend but I am probably coming up the following weekend. Anybody going to be around then?

Ahh, Steph, you know it's not like that. I'm just excited that I have it in time for the match on Sunday, and since I mentioned it in my opening post, I figure I'd confirm.

However, it is very cool.

Just busting on you! :) Since I will be viewing the match from the comfort of my living room, it would be cool to have some of the boys with me! :D

Bummed that I'm going to miss the banner again. Oh well. I'm certainly going to be in Philly for the Newcastle game on August 14th. I'd like to watch it with some Gooners. It looks like the Dark Horse is the place to be. I've never been there so I've got some questions. How is the smoking situation there? That stuff kills my lame asthmatic lungs. I'm lucky to live in a place with a county ban on smoking in restaurants, pubs, etc. Is there a regular group of gooners at the Dark Horse most matchdays? Thanks.

Sorry you won't be there tomorrow, but we'll defintely catch up some time. As for the smoke situation, it has been known to get pretty bad, but it all depends on who's there.

There are several Gooner regulars, and it's always nice to see familiar faces.

They do offer breakfast on Sundays. On Saturdays it's strictly egg, bacon and cheese on rolls.
