De nada. We've had three parties for my daughter this weekend so cake is easy to come by at our house right now. As is torn wrapping paper, assorted labels, instructions, pages from coloring/activity books galore and lots and lots of dirty laundary. Next year more early coordination and everyone's attending the same d*** party!

My wife is one of those perfectionist-accommodators. The original idea was a small party for girls only, now that Julia's old enough to favor that approach. Then the family from north Atlanta couldn't make it so we met them halfway for dinner Sunday. But wait, all the mom's from playgroup and church wanted in, so an after school party was on tap yesterday. And in each case my darling wife went all out with decorations, activities, toppings for ice cream sundaes... In her frantic state I was chastised for getting out of work only 3 hours early to help set up!

Have to hand it to her, though. Julia had a blast and we made some great memories. I guess that extreme beats lethargy, the latter of which seems more my bloodline! "Was it your birthday, son? Here's a twenty. Knock yourself out!"

We plan on continuing the party setup for Kyla's B-day last year. We had over all the kids and parents for a nice little party. Then afterwards, all the other adult friends came over for a "we kept her alive another year" party and we cooked steaks and drank a bunch. Good times.
