Squads: For Reading, Saturday: Cerny, Burch, Gardner, Kelly, King, Ziegler, Routledge, Reid, Tainio, Mendes, Defoe, Mido, Bunjevcevic, Marney, Jackson, El Hamdaoui.
For Aldershot, Sunday: Fulop, Burch, Marney, Dawson, Huddlestone, Lennon, Jackson, Bunjevcevic, Davenport, Carrick, Keane, Kanoute, El Hamdaoui, Barnard, Yeates, Hallfredsson.
Johnnie f.uckin Jackson? Didn't we sell this bastard to Imaginary Madrid?
On the other hand, thats a pretty good squad to face Alder-twatting-shot.

I like the fact Jol has mixed up the squads, the Reading game has more 1st team players but it is good to see Carrick, Dawson, Huddlestone, Keane and Kanoute play with players like Hallfredsson & Barnard.
In the Reading game Ziegler will likely be playing left back as Edman is not their.

If Yeates, Barnard and Halfredsson are in the squad for Aldershot, then I think Defendi should be in there too.

Interesting to see Ziegler get a run out at left back. Hope he does well.
Shame Dave Kitson is not playing, he's a top player for Reading and is a diehard Spurs fan, bless him :D

DAVE Kitson is 'devastated' to miss Saturday's prestigious friendly against Tottenham Hotspur at the Madejski Stadium (3pm).
Reading's prolific striker is likely to be denied the opportunity of playing against the team he passionately supports after stretching knee ligaments in last weekend's 8-0 thrashing of Swedish non-league outfit Holmalunds IF.
He now faces a race against time to be fit for Reading's opening Championship fixture against Plymouth Argyle on Saturday week.
"I'm devastated to miss the Spurs game," he admitted. "You never know when you'll get the chance to play against the team you support. "But I would never risk it. I would much rather be fit for Plymouth."
However, Kitson cannot hide his disappointment at being forced to pull out of the match against Martin Jol's Premiership side who are expected to contain new signing Edgar Davids.
"They're the team I grew up with," said Kitson. "I watch them whenever I can and I've been following them in the Peace Cup.
"I was really looking forward to it and I already had my eye on a few Spurs shirts."
However, straight-talking Kitson also aimed a stinging broadside at some of his fellow professionals by claiming spiralling wages have damaged the game.
"My dad grew up watching the double-winning Spurs team of 1961," he explained. "That's why I get so irritated when people play the ball in the air.
"Then we had the Glenn Hoddle, Chris Waddle and Clive Allen period which was fantastic. That's the team I grew up with.
"I modelled myself on Hoddle. He saw things no-one else would. He was absolutely brilliant. You don't get players like him any more.
"But my dad's a bit funny when it comes to supporting them now. When you're brought up watching one of the greatest English side to play the game, where do you go after that?
"He'd go and see the likes of Danny Blanchflower and Cliff Jones, then buy lunch from one of their shops near White Hart Lane because all the play-ers had them. "That's how it was back then. Nowadays we have guys on £60,000 per week so football just isn't the same any more.
"I think footballers believe they're Jesus Christ sometimes. They need to be brought down a peg or two.
"They're not my favourite people that's for sure and I certainly won't be socialising with them once I'm out of football."

I think he would have tried to swap shirts with either Ledley or Defoe.

1-0 to the Tottenham
5mins: GOAL. Lovely move started with Gardner interception, he fed Defoe who played it wide to Routledge, Kelly went on overlap to create room for Routledge to slip perfect pass to Mido who finished with some style one-on-one.

I think the credit goes to the manager, he seem's to have that special talent to develop people, just think what he will do with Routledge and Lennon, excellent. Gardner and Davenport have done well this pre season. Can only be good :D

Added time: GOAL. Pass forward cleared to Defoe who controlled and went for dipping volley from 25 yards, ball clipped off Sonko and left Hahnemann helpless.

The strikers are really on fire this pre-season, all the goals have come from them, none from other areas of the field which is slightly worrying.
