On our way into FedEx last night, we ran into a Chelsea fan carrying some stalks of celergy. Between the beer and the noise, his explanation for it didn't quite come across.
Does anyone know what that's about?

This is what I was told, nearly verbatim, by a fellow Yank who inquired:
"No, it has nothing to do with 'salary.' It has somehing to do with slang for female genitalia." :confused:
I didn't ask any additional questions.

All I know is that they hit one of my LN brothers with one of them.. But in the sake of "Sportsfanship" We didn't do/say anything.

yep... I saw the same thing..... I saw a couple of females with celery..... one had a quite a large stalk hanging out of her back pocket... the other was flaring hers around in the air.......... hummmmmmm.............

there was some song that had to do something with celery tickling your bum
i'm sure when Chelsea DC people stop by they'll explain, it really didn't make sense at the time :D

Whilst being searched by a copper outside the Shed turnstiles sometime in the 80's, he looked in my carrier bag and said
"Wot, no celery?"
It was the custom that sticks of celery were thrown during this song. It was some sight to see the Middle of the Shed
lobbing celery around.
But as told to me by Jakarta Dave:
"On the Celery front, I think the chant that went up when they tried to stop us from taking Celery in is worth a mention.
"You'll never ban the Celery!"

People were getting a little bored with hooliganism…...Mid to late 1980’s too many drugs on the terraces and too many bad performances on the pitch. ..
Combating boredom with sexual deviancy and poking a little fun at those really hard and tough train traveling Inter City Firm lads ….someone suggested it started after fans were forced to walk through some fields on the way to/from a <st1 ="">Watford</st1> game. ….truth is it is a mysterious inner sanctum cult for really true blue <st1:city w:st="on"><st1 ="">Chelsea</st1></st1:city> fans, kinda like the Masons or the Rosicrucian Order or the Templars….. Those who know do not speak; Those who speak do not know….

Do you ever find yourself in a situation where you bring Celery to one of the games and become really hungry and just eat it? Personally, i don't like the taste.
