We're having a big bash at our house tomorrow about 50 people. Suggestions on good fun summer type songs?
(Thanks in advance)

I rolled out Night Train To Nashville (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0001DMWFW/103-1695627-5588655?v=glance) at a BBQ last weekend and people totally loved it. 38 tracks, 2.5 hours of the history of R&B.

Oddly enough, I've thrown these two discs (three discs actually since "Pirates" is a 2CD set) of Senegalese music in the player at a lot of parties and they've always gone over quite well. They're a decent sized band with guitar, bass, drums, percussion, multiple vocalists and small number of horns.

How did we get this far without mentioning the single greatest summertime song --
Len - Steal My Sunshine
How cool is this group?
Do we need to list cool music or popular music?
What kind of feel are we going for.
Are we dancing, ormerely throwing beer out on the table to see who ends up making out?
Is the boss coming?
Beach Boys -- Good Vibrations (obviously, maybe just put in Pet Sounds, if you have it.)

I took a look at this when obie first posted it and ordered the cd. It's totally good stuff. My only "trouble" is I made the mistake of listening to it here in the office and am getting next to zero work done because it's too damned fun to treat as background music. Anyway, thanks obie.
