Unfortunately he died a while back (mid 90's??). One of the bars in the West Stand lower concourse is named Zigga Zagger in his honour

Shame.

My dad used to revere him, even though he hated Chelsea. Said that Mickey was a true football fan who never missed a game. Hell, even I heard Mickey's lone voice singing Zigger Zagger when Chelsea came to Maine Road about 10 years ago. :D

Yep he was doing it in the 60's when I first started going to the SHED End, here is a link about him:

Mickey Greenaway aka the Zigger-Zagger man

Died August 25th 1999

He had been ill for many years, and had become a recluse.

Zigga Zagga
Zigga Zagga
and the reply
Oi! Oi! Oi!

You've heard him sing,
You've seen him pose;
It's Greenaway with the Staircase nose.

I heard you lads had a great time (drunken slurred speech phone calls and VM's). It looked like you had a great night as well, as I watched you lot on the telly.

I'll see you at Giants stadium mate.

yes mate.

I'll be there with Clan, Nice, myself and all the US Blues. If you're there, ask your brother to point me out! Or anyone, most people know me.

Does that bloke still go to Chelsea? Not since he passed away..

I knew him quite well, but so did everybody in the Shed in the 60's. He always reaked of beer and would let loose the most foul smeeling farts I've ever been downwind of. For that reason we always tried to stay a distance from him, and upwind if possible, but as a supporter, he was a top bloke.

I agree. Its bitter sweet. While I agree its sad that it isnt allowed, I also am happy that it took the violence away. Well....most of it.:)

Mickey was my introduction to Chelsea (one of them atleast) on my first trip across the pond. I was blown away in the Britannia. Then I found myself being the only one standing one "If you hate Man U, sit down" and everyone laughed at the Yank who just wanted another beer.
