Well, be fair Gasciogne old man, you can't expect Chelsea to compete with the performances of teams like Fulham, Blackburn and Tottenham. ;)

From CFC:

José Mourinho is going to give 20 year old Lassana Diarra at least 45 minutes at DC Washington tonight on Chelsea’s second pre-season friendly of the USA tour.

Tough match for me. I've been following both teams for about the same amount of time (8 years), having started to become more of a spectator after a knee injury. Anyway, since I am more connected to DC, I will be wearing the black of United (but will have Chelsea blue underneath).

Should be fun!

Oh, call me a eurosnob, but Chelsea FC should win this by at least 5 or 6 goals ;) :D

This was very amusing...

An interesting, not to say unique, perspective on the proceedings.

Be interested to see Adu playing against people we all know well. Sort of reminds me a bit of SWP, to be honest.

I really doubt that will happen.
Though if it was in a serious match, like CL or EPL, I'm sure Chelsea would crush them by 5 or 6.

The build up stuff on the DC boards is pretty funny - some of them are taking this pretty seriously. We're, apparently "overlooking" DC because Mourinho called them a smaller club than Milan. The nerve!
I wouldn't be shocked if we drew, but expect something like the 3-1 win that Milan got in Chicago.

By the way, why isn't Jose complaining more about us playing on shorter rest on Sunday than Milan? ;)

Yeah, is Kevin Payne on the MLS board?

From what I've seen of DC's performances, you should win comfortably. Nowak prefers a 3-5-2, there should be space for your scary complement of wide men to exploit. DC has really felt the loss of Ryan Nelsen in defense and as captain. Should be a good game nonetheless - I certainly hope DC puts in as strong a performance as Chicago did against Milan last night (wow).

He's saving that for after the match when we lose by 6 or 7 nil :)

MLS players take these games pretty seriously, however I don't think the European teams have until recently. I expect Chelsea to play to win, as opposed to many of the games listed above.

By the way, didn't DC also beat Nottingham Forest in 2000?
