Best/Worst Logos

I did this a few years ago, but perhaps it is time to revisit the subject. What are you thoughts on the best/worst 1.BL logos?

My top 3:

1. Eintracht Frankfurt (very German, which is its appeal).
2. Gladbach (biased, I know, but simple black and white elegance).
3. Cologne (more modern and American, but tastefully done).

My bottom 3:

1. Wolfsburg (hurts me to say this, but non-descript and lame).
2. Duisburg (similar in some ways to Cologne, but misses the mark).
3. Stuttgart (too busy).

I think there are more weak logos than strong logos. I like Bayern's, Hamburg's, and am OK with Nuremberg's, but the rest are kind of weak in my view.

OK, I'm biased, but I really think, that the HSV logo is the best. It's the only logo I know (worldwide) that has no numbers, letters, animals or anything else on it and still you know what it stands for. Its style is unique and that's why I think it's cool.

Ones I don't like:
Wolfsburg, just looks cheap and crappy
And I don't like Köln, Duisburg and Leverkusen, why do the all have those stupid animals on their logo? They'd look better without the goat, the zebra or those lions (that's the worst of them, I mean hello? Leverkusen? Lions? Where's the point?)

Ones I like:
Schalke and Gladbach, simple and classy.

Hmmm, without putting too much thought into it, I'd say...

Favorites:

1. Koln - I like the goat and the silhouette of the church.

2. Duisburg - I like this one just because it has a Zebra in it. How many other teams have a zebra in their logo? (I guess some African team might.)

3. Frankfurt - Like you said, the eagle makes it seem very "German." (Although it actually makes me think more of Austria.)


Least favorites:

1. Nurnberg/Kaislerslauter - "Hi, we have the same exact logo!"

2. Borussia Dortmund - For some reason it reminds me of a decal that would have come with one of my old G.I. Joe toys.

3. Leverkusen - They have an aspirin tablet in their logo. Enough said.

The funny thing is that, while Köln's logo is a few decades old, Frankfurt's traditional looking logo is just 4 or 5 years old (although it could be that they went back to an older logo again, I am sure one of the Frankfurt fans here knows more).

Anyway, of the current Bundesliga clubs i'd go with Hertha, Bremen or Duisburg (I should probably hate it for looking like something a PR guy invented, but the zebra is simply too cute to be disliked). For worst logo, I agree with wolfsburghs no. 1 pick :D.

But of course Eintracht Braunschweig's old logo owns everyone else. The current logo isn't bad as well, but the old one just rocks (I used it as my avatar on BS when ordinary users still had those).

Leverkusen? Lions? Where's the point?

So? On the 1st picture you see a classy stylish logo, which is cool (see above for explanation), on the 2nd you see a boring white "W" with some green and white around it. What's so spectacular bout that? Honestly, I don't get it and that has nothing to do with the rivalry.

I dont really have a preference on the best...soooo Dortmund, Bielefeld and Hertha :D
