Bundesliga on FSC (Week 1)

The first match of the new season to be shown on Fox Soccer Channel will be....*drum roll*...

Stuttgart vs. Duisburg on August 6.

Ugh. Although I will be interested in seeing the new look Stuttgart. I'm afraid this is going to be the first in a long line of (not to pick on anyone) Leverkusen versus Frankfurt games.

I'd be happy if Stuttgart replaced Schalke as FSC's favorite team this season. Last year, they might as well have called themselves Fox "Schalke" Channel.

Of course, Schalke's playing on Sunday, so I guess they couldn't have chosen that game if they wanted to.

I also like seeing the newly promoted sides, just as long as they don't show them too often. :)

They did show a lot of Schalke late in the season, which was OK because Schalke was playing for something. Before that, Hertha seemed to be on a ton. Wouldn't surprise me to see a lot of Stuttgart this year. Not an elite team, but good enough to attract at least some interest.

I'll probably watch the Werder Bremen-Armenia bielifield match on Setanta instead.I was hoping one station would have showed Dortmund-Wolfsburg but its nice to have a choice.I expect the FSC matches to be lots of schalke-stuttgart with setanta choosing Bayern Munich-Leverkusen matches.

I will be subscribing to Setanta this season, but will want to watch a few choice matches on FSC, such as the MSV - VfB fixture to start things out.

Has anyone ever done this: Subscribe to FSC (or the DirecTV Sports pack) on Saturday morning, watch the match, turn off the Sports pack subscription until next time you need it. It looks like that should work, and there seem to be no rules against it...anyone?

oh trust me... i would love to see Stuttgart instead of schalke... but tthis deosn't really matter to me.

Now Setanta is showing both Sunday matches the first week.Eintracht Frankfurt -Leverkusen live Sun Morning and Schalke-Kaiserslautern taped Monday night.Thats 5 Bundesliga matches the first weekend FSC and Setanta combined.

As far as I know, Setanta is only available through DirecTV.

How much is Setanta? It's going to be so frustrating to go through another season of FSC picking the most inconsequential matches to air each week.

$11.99.That's not bad for all the Bundesliga,European World Cup Qualifiers and over 60 Champions league matches.Since Setanta has first choice of Bundesliga matches on Saturdays I expect any of the big matches to not show up on FSC.

I dropped Showtime, which I found I rarely watched, and picked it up. Pretty steep for a single channel but I want to see as many Bayern matches as possible and the CL coverage tipped the scales.
