Not sure if anyone's interested but it's between England and France at Windsor Park, Belfast on Friday.

Yep, hopefully they win. Seems like a group crop of kids, they've been unbeaten for over a year and most seem like making breakthroughs at their clubs.

A final not bad :) But more importantly any quality in the side?

There are some good players in there, they were unfortunate in the final as their tactics were poor, too narrow. They were a bit better than the French in the first group game, so was disappointing to lose.

There are some good players in there - Mark Noble, Mathew Fryatt and a few others. They were missing some of the top boys from that age group though - Tom Huddlestone, Aaron Lennon and others.

look our for noble in the future watched him all last season and was skipping past players (not literally) hope we can keep hold of him!

There's not a single half decent defender amongst them and the tactics were shite. Seems like the old boys network kicked in again to get that hack of a coach his job, it was an appaling display of football, all hit and hope. I thought we'd left that crap behind 10 years ago but it appears not. Until we get some youth managers/coaches with some degree of tactical knowledge we won't do anything no matter how good the players are.

agreed ,prenn.
the coaches for the youth levels are shocking.
a lad called kyle nix was a mate of my sister at school .he played for england at u-18 ,u-19 ,etc... the coach was a complete numpty .didnt like skillful players.

I can't believe the FA would employ some arse who plays longball, he could ruin those players.

Martin Hunter was the coach of the U19s, what has that no-name ever achieved?

I think the problem is....

Who exactly is going to do the job? With no disrespect to the young England players, the job can't be that fulfilling, so they have to staff it with either a person with no experience whatsoever or a guy that is basically crap.

We could start paying SGE wages to guys to do the job, or as it seems, the FA are more content to find a guy who is just as willing to develop himself as the players he's supposed to be devloping.

Sad but true.

It's about time the FA starting putting guys like Peter Taylor in charge of our young players, or at least get young managers with a bit of experience from lower down the table and get them coached up to the standard.

The young managers/coaches in the game are just as important as the young players in England...

the sunderland player (leadbitter?) really impressed me vs serbia, i think he could become a full international in the future, he reminded me of gerrard when he was younger
