I've challenged Scouse Cricket to play at their place; if you'd rather play at Asgard, please let me know. I'm not sure which would be better fan-wise; I'm up to ca. 650 fan club members and on a long league winning streak, but I play at the top club this week and I'm not sure what my chances are of winning.

I'm at 722 fan club members. And actually, for some strange reason, I played all my BS cup games away from home, so I'm cool with my place (won't be able to watch it, unless you enjoy being up between midnight and 6, however).

Right now, I can't stop thinking about Friday's match.

I'm well behind you guys @ 642... due mostly to a poor start to the season.

hmmm, i might buy this wicketkeeper on the market right now. he's old, 24, but he's a good hitter and is better in everything then my current one!

if I come in 1st this season i might splash for a great allrounder

hmm, weather is going to be partly cloudy and humid and its a slow pitch so it favors the bowlers. if i win the toss do I want to bat or bowl? i'm thinking I want to bowl, still thinking it over. I'm definetly playing "Go For It" and see if my guys can step up.

watch, i'll probably get bowled out for like 90 runs.

Wait, they've implemented weather?

Hmm... I'm thinking that earlier on, it was always just one thing, but could be mistaken about that. Any indication on what types of weather favor what players?

i don't know if it effects the game, but the games are either played in overcast, sunny, partly cloudy, and sometimes they mention the humidity. i think it effects the game somewhat, might not though

edit: from Battrick rules section

"16. Regions and Weather

When you register you are asked to select a region to play in. The only effect that this has on the game is the weather. On the region page you will get a weather forecast for today and the next 5 days. Unfortunately Battrick forecasters are as bad as the rest of them, so it can change from day to day. The chances of getting any sort of weather is exactly the same in every region. One of the main advantages of playing cricket in Battrick is that it will never rain, so no chasing back to the pavilion here!!

The weather can have a large impact on your matches. Certain types of player will flourish in certain weather conditions although may suffer in others.

Also the weather will effect the match attendance to a degree"

Yeah, I read that bit from the rules. My recollection is that earlier in the season, the weather was constant and unchanging. I think it's a little odd that there isn't more detail about what types of players favor what types of weather.

I have been slacking for my Battrick team as work has picked up. If I have not been playing friendlies have I been hurting my training efforts?

they want you to figure it out for yourself... overcast will favor bowlers who swing the ball... ie, medium pacers... dry conditions tend to favor spinners, however its unrealistic for that to happen in a limited over match (unless the conditions have been like that for quite some time).

I think i may lose this game and because of that, promotion. :(

On my way to a big win I sense...

123-2 after 20 overs... I'm gonna lose 2 wickets in the next 5-10 overs I'm sure (stamina) but if I make less than 300 I'll be greatly disappointed... I'm batting first and I've got my bowlers set to defensive, this match will likely last the full 100 overs.

124-2 after 23 overs.

good recovery after loisng a wicket in the 2nd over. i'll probably lose a few more, probably collapse like i always do. would like to be over 250.

i've got two bowlers on defensive and two on attacking. one of the guys on attacking always takes 2 or 3 wickets when he is on attacking. we'll see what happens!

I won today, easier than I thought.

My mediocre/competent batsmen that I picked up for only $1K did well and that should protect my tail enders from too much exposure.

I finished third on runrate as second place won today and we finished level on points.

End of Over 32: 172-2, runrate=5.38

i like it. i'm leaving work, half day, and i have to see the dentist (ugh), so i don't be able to check it until the match is over. hope i can win this one!
