damn i gotta call it a night...no one can survive multiple food eatiing contests and foot fungus commercials...so far it's been too of each and if i stay up any longer i'll puke! See you guys later...

Hey a record for the hot dog eating contest will be 4 inches per minute...like that didn't sound perverted.

This is so stupid it's funny...they are discussing the technical aspects...fome separate dog from bun...some tear in half...some choose tea to drink...some choose lemonade...so fcuking weird

Although I must say...those Japanese people KNOW HOW TO EAT. Probably a third of the finalists are of japanese descent. I would have never put money on that! They stay so thin! Must be bulimics! I'd hate to try to go to the bathroom backstage. They are probably all puking their guts out afterwards.
I watched that live on July 4th, just for the hell of it. I could not believe how seriously they were taking it. The video packages were the best, although the funniest part was that the guy calling it also does IndyCar racing.

And, as for Taco Bell, I hate to admit it, but I seriously enjoyed downing two soft tacos and nachos both coming into Detroit and leaving it (first and last stops in the States while I was back). I never thought I'd miss reconstituted beef and stale chips so much!

Girls don't call guys back...didn't you read "The Rules" or "He's really just not into you"?

OK, this is as good a place as any to ask this question, so here goes...

After nearly eight years, I find myself back "out there" as Mrs. Constanza once so eloquently put it.

A few weeks back, at the insistance of my sister and a few of my female friends, I signed up for Match.com. There were a few girls whom I "winked" at, and some who winked at me.

Most recently, I've been emailing back and forth with one particular girl, whom I've become quite interested in. I began to think she had lost interest when I didn't hear from her for a week, but on a whim, I sent another email (techinically it was her turn), and she replied within hours. Not only that, but she explained that she was pretty much crap at checking her mail, so I'd be better off just calling her. She then listed her number and closed the email with a "Hope to hear from you soon."

Since her profile specifically stated that she was tired of "games" I did not do the "Swingers" thing and wait three days. I waited twenty-four hours.

When I called, I got her voice-mail. On the message, I identified myself as "Mike from Match.com", said that I thought I'd call to say a quick hello, and gave her my number.

That was on Tuesday. As of today, I've not heard back.

Should I be worried? Should I move on?

I'm so out of the whole dating ritual habit, it's sad.

Please help! Thanks all!

give her a call tonight to see if she wants to get together, or do it tomorrow night.

Call her again. Sometimes I do not get my voice mails in a timely fashion from Verizon-if you like her or think you like her-try again. No harm no foul I think! :)

I've obviously never met her, but from the tone of our emails, I think I do like her. If you guys think it's cool, I'll call her tonight after work.

Thanks!

I'd call her again today. The fact that the weekend is here gives you a good excuse for the followup.

Good luck.

Not planning your social life, but some ideas for getting together (little pressure on either of you):
Meet for a drink after work(could turn in to dinner, etc if you think it is going well or bail if tired not going well.....)
Meet for lunch/brunch on the weekend (again pressure is off-can make plans for later or go to a movie, park, etc. after)

Just some ideas for testing the dating waters again! Good luck-maybe you'll find a footie-loving super model that likes to give oral pleasure (this is what one of my husbands friends says about his perfect woman-only replace footie-loving with cyclist-although this could explain why he is still single...... ;) )

If I had gone I would have worn my Arsenal shirt, but it has a funny name on it. "Vieira" or something like that?

Dr. Steph handing out the advice!

Funny thing about cycling, I was watching the Daily Show the other day and they did a wrap up of the Tour de France. Their 'man on site' was saying that now Lance has retired, the US can go back to not caring about cycling again! :D
