Allianz Arena hosts 'Match for Peace'

The Allianz Arena witnessed historic scenes on Monday morning as the Bayern U-17 met a cross-community team of Israelis and Palestinians drawn from the 'Peres Center for Peace' in a match to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Germany and Israel restoring diplomatic relations. "This is the most important game of the next few weeks. It is a chance for sport to make a contribution towards solving the world's problems," Uli Hoeneß commented ahead of the 'Match for Peace'.

It is most definately something to feel good about. It is even better that nothing bad has happened to my awareness. :D

This isn't the biggest thing in the world, BUT IT IS DEFINATELY A STEP FORWARD IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION!! It was not a squad of the nationals, but it was U-17, but the thing is they are the future and that is all that matters. I commend all that were associated in bringing both the Israellis and the Palestinians together, and the management at Bayern for allowing this to take place.

All in all, it leaves a good sense of optimism towards the future. Any step towards that desevers praise because it always takes little steps like these to eventually cause a big change. Props ! :D
