Crimen y Castigo

I've got the sense that Los Supers would like threads not to get too far past 500.
So to kick this off...

Stealing Home, with Mark Harmon and Jodie Foster. Call it a guilty pleasure.

Structurally, it's kind of sloppy and lazy, but there are a lot of really good performances. Who knew Tom Arnold could act? Maggie Gyllenhaal isn't a half bad singer either.

Imagine, Dawn of the Dead meets Hard Boiled.
George Romero meets John Woo
Not great, but that's the beauty of zombie flicks it doesn't have to be great. :D

I saw this Sunday-really good.
Last nights double feature:
Teenage Kicks: The Story of The Undertones
The Rutles
Can't say I share John Peels's worship of the song, but damn, if it hasn't been in my head all day. Worth checking out even if your not an Undertones fan.

Last week, I set some sort of record and saw 5 movies in two days. The Constant Gardener, Stealth, Hustle and Flow, Broken Flowers and Brothers Grimm. In that group, there's one outstanding film, one very good film, one pretty decent film, one disapppointing film and one bloody shipwreck. I'll let you guess which film's which. I bet the shipwreck is pretty obvious. I could have seen Saraband, the new Ingmar Bergman, too, but by that time I was in need of an IV and pure sunlight, particularly after the non-stoppedness of Brothers Grimm.

Yesterday: Constantine (fell asleep for 30 minutes about an hour in and was confused by everything when I woke up - "Is that the dude from Bush???").
Today: Les aimants, a cute French-Canadian romcom with the ever-lovely miss Isabelle Blais.

The Upside of Anger
Better than I'd thought it would be. Costner was surprisingly good. The plot was...odd.
