Adu was really not effective until the last couple of times he touched the ball.
He did not get any calls from the ref and every time he made a move he was bumped off the ball. He still needs to get a lot tougher and stronger.

Rimando- 4 Not good at all
Prideaux- 6.5 having his best year ever? Couldn't have come at a better time. MOTM except for fred- and Brandon set him up.
Boswell- 5.5 Good steady performance
Wilson- 5.5 Did his part
Kovalenko- 6 Says something about the fitness of the team when Dema plays the whole game but Pando subs out. Did some goos stuff.
Carroll- 6 he and the next guy prevented penetration.
Simms- 6 see Carroll
Gomez- 5- Not much today.
Gros- 6 Again he and Dema owned the wings.
Moreno- 5.5 Considering the heat- okay.
Adu- 7 MOTM Besides the goal, remember that georgous cross to Gros' head Couldn't set a player up any better. Also a great layoff to Walker for what could have been the game winner.

Walker- 5.5 I think he's getting better. He did some nice running today- eventuially he'll get a couple of goals.
Kuykendall- NR

Kuykendall- NR Honestly, i basically agree with your rankings. Just sign me up with those ratings. I think that generally people are tough on Walker. He has not produced yet. I fully agree. However, I just think he is going to break out when he gets his shooting boots on. We are going to need him and that pace before this season is over. You can count on that.

Just remember we all said the same thing about Albright...

Just remember we all said the same thing about Albright... I didn't, because I just started following the team in 2003 and never knew Albright as a United player. I'm not saying that Jamil will ever be a week to week starter though. I'm saying that he will be a good striker to have when the games and fatigue are piling up or we need some speed on the field. And there will be games like that throughout the rest of the season where Jamil will be a big factor (for good or bad). Hopefully, he takes his shots and makes us proud.

Of course the interesting thing about Chrissy is that he may well make Arena's germany squad as a right back. So he had the talent, just the wrong position with United.

i think him on the us side says more about the state of the us player pool than albright's supposed ability ;)

Yep. Albright was perhaps the best Galaxy player on the pitch yesterday. He and Heydude will duke it out for Cherundolo's backup on the right. Hejduk can play on the left, but that may actually help Chris win a roster spot.

the defense played really well, were pretty steady most of the game, so overall i'd give them a 5.75, not a six, but not a 5.5

offense sputtered a lot adu played well, walker needs to review some tape to understand the flow of the game better, moreno wasn't there, neither was gomez, another steady day for dema and gros, a 5.5

as for rimando: 4, must have been this, must have been that, it didn't look too good, at least he was following the ball

Rimando 4.5 Shut-out due more to Gals' ineptitude than Nick's talent, today.
Prideaux 6 Solid game, really has stepped-up since Namoff was injured.
Boswell 6 Overall good, was out of position a couple of times. No Landon? No harm done.
Wilson 5.5 Needs to take his foot SLIGHTLY off the offensive gas, and step ON the defensive gas. Some questionable runs/plays/turnovers - didn't get beat. When he finally "get's it" (the mix between offense & defense), he'll be one hell of a player.
Kovalenko 6 Finally starting to get "stuck-in." Welcome back Dema!
Carroll 6 Great defense, paired well with Simms.
Simms 6 Good partnership with Carroll. Defense for both better than offense, but defense was more important this match.
Gomez 5 I expected more from him. Number of games/horrible conditions, must have him wiped out.
Gros 6 Better match than KC. Motored the whole match, too.
Moreno 5 Like Gomez, I expected more from Jaime. Horrible conditions contributed to sub-par (for him) performance.
Adu 7.5 He's playing so much better since the U-20 WC. Wanted the ball when the game was on the line. Great shot to win the match.
Walker 4.5 Didn't do a whole lot for me, again. Good on reserve team, does next to nothing for the full side.
Kuykendall N/A

Rimando = 3 - the only positive is the shutout (thank you team defense?). And what was the deal on the give and go pass that passed right under him?
Prideaux = 5.5 - he's cautious going forward (rightly so) but does provide both some grit and more than a defensive oblisque ( I still recall fondly his destruction of side-show cobi last time I saw la-la here.)
Boswell = 6.5 it will be interesting to see if the in discussions center can beat him out. I think he is bringing it game in game out - with some rookie challenges -and could be the long-term solution in the center.
Wilson = 5.5 - I love his ability and illingness to go forward; combined with his hustle to get back. He simply seemed to want to dribble through, rather than pass around, the opposition.
Kovalenko = 5 - He seemed closer to the Kovalenko of old than I've seen yet this year. I'd have been more impressed if instead of going after that ponce left wing of LA, he defended one of his teammates; but, it is the little steps, sometimes.
Carroll = 4 - I credit that he "sees" the crossfield option, but that is maybe half the battle. It actually has to get there, and in a positive manner... painful.
Simms = 6 - workrate and speed, plus a good dose of a nose to goal on his longer range shot.
Gomez = 6.5 - much quieter today than against the Clash, but still class.
Gros = 6 - almost on the header early, and the epitome of tirelessness
Moreno = 6.5 - not dissimilar from Gomez. earned, but not awarded a penalty
Adu = 6.5 - he hustled the whole game and when he had a late chance took it by the b@lls

Walker = 5 love the speed, but hate the skill
Kuykendall = NR
