I'm surprised the Texans came in 12th considering they came in the league only 3 years ago.

The Texans figure is from Forbes. They are usually fairly accurate. At the end of the day a US team is purely just a franchise, there does not need to be a long history - One year they could be in Houston, the next in Atlanta, the TV revenues and gate receipts would still be there.

Thanks for the praise ...
I have Club Brugge at €21m
Also - Anderlecht at €25m, Standard Liege at €16m and Racing Genk at €15m .. I think these are budgets as opposed to revenues, but it gives you an indication of size. I hope this answers your question.

I hate the yankees. This list shows that they dont know how to spend money. Yet my teams, the nats the vikings, and club brugge all know how to spend their money. Let us not forget Club Brugge's surprising win over AC Milan at San Siro two years ago. Also, the redskins have no clue how to spend money.

Watch the NFL teams dominate even more next year with their new TV deal - $125m each team (thats just TV money !!) - The Redskins will probably turn over nearly $300m next year.

I'd looooove to hear how you came to this conclusion.

It's a list of the richest teams in sport. They're second.

How exactly does that show they don't know how to spend money? Does that mean that Real Madrid is worse as spending money and ManU is almost as bad?

Cause if I was the owner and I was listed as the second richest teams in sport, I'd look at that list and say that I was managing my money almost perfectly.

They have the highest payroll in baseball (around 164 million) and the Mets are second with a payroll about 50 million less than that. With this payroll they are still 4 games back in the wild card race. If the playoffs started today they wouldnt be in it. The Nationals on the other hand have the lowest payroll in baseball and are only two games back from the wild card and that is just due to a recent slump. So which team makes more out of their money. If you have the highest payroll in baseball by that much than you should at least make the playoffs.

The play-offs don't start today.

What does this have to do knowing how to spend their money?

The Nationals on the other hand have the lowest payroll in baseball and are only two games back from the wild card and that is just due to a recent slump.

The play-offs don't start today.

Let's say for your sake that they make the play-offs and the Yankees don't. How does that show the Yankees spend their money poorly? Because they didn't make the play-offs one year?

How many championships do the Yankees have? What's their average attendance? How much money does the Yankees organization make each year?

And the Nationals/Expos?

So which team makes more out of their money.

CLEARLY the Yankees do. Like not even remotely close. They have more World Series than Carter had peanuts. They sell out games left and right. They sell more merchandise than any other baseball team out there. Their team makes more money that any other team in ANY SPORT except one. How on earth did they spend their more foolishly?

If you have the highest payroll in baseball by that much than you should at least make the playoffs.

The play-offs don't start today.

You want to see a waste of money? Look at the boston Red Sox. Look at the amount of money they spend compared to the amount of money they make. Then compare it to Championships won. THAT'S a waste of money.

By the way, the Yankees spend over two hundred million in payroll and the mets just over one hundred million. The Red Sox are second with 123 million spent.

The Yankees gain more money per dollar spent than either of those two using the above list.

The list that you yourself said just shows how the Yankees can't manage money well.

What i am trying to say is with their payroll their team should be acheving more this year.

What i am trying to say is with their payroll their team should be acheving more this year.

Why?

Their proven track record isn't enough for you?

If one team won the World Series every single year, why would anyone want to watch the season?

Besides, I'm still trying to figure out how you make the conclusion that a because a team is listed as the second highest earning team in the world, they spend their money unwisely like you stated in your first post. They make more money than any other team in the league. They sell more merchandise. They have fans going en mass to every single game both at home and on the road. How is that poor money spending? Just because they spend the most? So the fact that they not only make more than any other team, but also make more per dollar spent is somehow poor spending? Sweet god, you better hope you never get a management job anywhere.

Ok fine, they do a good job of earning more money. What I should have said is they dont spend thier money well on personell decisions. They spend so much on players and the players arent really earning the money(Rodriguez is). Derek Jeter and Mike Mussina are both paid $19,000,000 per year. With that salary Mussina is 10-7 with a 4.05 era. Chris Carpenter is paid $2,000,000 per year, he is 16-4 with a 2.26 era. With that salary Derek Jeter didnt make the all-star game. Miguel Tejada started the all star game at SS and he has a salary of $10,700,000 per year. I am not saying that Marino Rivera isnt good. Its just that he is getting paid too much. They pay Kevin Brown 15 million per year. There are many more instances of why the yankees dont spend money well on personell.
