I think perhaps this should say Bayern reported a record LEGAL income for last season.......
I said in another thread the season before last was the first one they operated without their KirchMedia blackmail money.
Before people start whining about me being a "BayernHater" and all that crap, this is no groundless allegation.
This behavior was admitted to by Bayern leadership.
The DFB were considering making them fork all that money back over and that's when Beckenbauer was threatening to pull the club out of the Bundesliga.
Bayern would have had to sell about four or five of their top players to make up for such a loss.
In the end, the DFB let them off the hook as usual......

MUNICH, Germany (AP) - Bayern Munich reported a record income of €180 million (US$218 million) last season and returned to profitability last season.
Club manager Uli Hoeness told Kicker Magazine that success on the pitch led to a €6.5 million (US$7.9 million) profit for the 2004-2005 season.
The income was a 12 percent increase over 2003-2004, when Bayern reported income of €166.3 million (US$200 million) but lost ?3.4 million (US$4.1 million).
Under new coach Felix Magath, Bayern bounced back last season and won the Bundesliga and German Cup titles. It also reached the Champions League quarterfinals following two years of first round exits.
Hoeness said sponsorship deals also boosted income. The club originally expected to lose money due to the expensive signings of Brazilian international Lucio and German international Torsten Frings.
