Playing too much is rubbish. You have to get a rhythm back. A professional could play too much because that is all they do and therefore they need a holliday. But you just need to get back into groove. Just remember the simple things too.

It certainly is possible to play too much soccer. You are training more than even MLS players do. Reduction in performance and lack of desire to continue are common results of overtraining.

Part of the problem with to much practice is you exhaust certain muscle groups while ignoring the conditioning of certain other muscle groups. Any large amount of training should include some cross training to equalize muscle development. Lots of injuries come from lack of this cross training, especially joint problems, the muscles controlling one half of the joint are not strong enough and you body tries to adjust and it causes things like joint strain, tendonitis etc.
There is also the burnout factor.

maybe mental exhaustion? this happened to me in ecuador where i was playing 3-5 hours a day, 5 days a week, for about 2 months. just take a week off or so, you will be fine.

You can definately get burnt out. If you feel your desire to play start to drop, or you're dreading the next training session, then you know youi're over training.

I just completed preseason for my college soccer team and did either 4 or 3 a days, averaging about 7 hours per day. We did this for about 10 days. I am exhausted, but I got through it. I think you are probably just tired. Take a day or two off, then get back into it. If you are going to train that much, you need to work up to it. I trained for hours a day before preseason to get ready.

Actually, that is not bad advice. When you are playing that much, you have to eat a ton. I ate like a horse during preseason, like, 3 or 4 sandwiches a meal. That is what 7 hours a day of footie will do to you.

that is quite a lot of soccer
i do believe that there is a thing such as to much soccer
ive gone thru it a few times and im was just going thru one not long ago...lucky the outdoor season has finished now....so i can relax...
i still play futsal, but thats once a week, no training required.
if you play constantly all the time all year round you end up getting burnt out....you lose your touch, confidence etc etc.
have a few weeks off then youll be itching to get back into it....touch might not be there at the start, but your confidence and determination will be.

The problem with playing constantly is that all you often do is match the skills you already have against someone else's. And doing that and wanting to win those competitions becomes a grind. Remember that there's a lot you probably still can learn about soccer. Forget about results or ego. Do new things when playing. Start over if you're allowed to and enjoy things the way you did when you first began playing.
