Makes it quite the more remarkable, really. :)

This was a particularly good column by Ed. (Which says a lot, because each new one raises the bar.) Not only is Ed a good writer, he drinks like one (see under "Barra tailgates"). I like the curmugeonly persona Ed uses in his columns. (I can hear him now, "What persona?") If Mencken were alive today, Ed would be running circles around him.
