Alright, so I'm heading to NY to visit some friends and hopefully pick up some good records. But I need to know a few record shops in town.

What I really want to find are good vinyl shops. I'm talking about shops that'll have some soulful house, nu-jazz, that kind of thing. Artists like Isolee, maybe some broken beats in the Bugz in the Attic mold (Phil Asher/Restless Soul, Patrick Forge, Seiji, Afronaught, Kaidi Tatham, Modaji, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Jazzanova, Faze Action, 4 Hero, etc.) Also looking for the kinds of artists like Yukihiro Fukutomi, Hajime Yoshizawa, Masters At Work aka M.A.W. (Louie Vega/Kenny Dope stuff), Danny Krivit, Galaxy 2 Galaxy (Urban Resistence stuff from Detroit), Kerri Chandler... just for a broad example. In otherwords, some deep house... not throbbing, redundant tech kind of tracks, but deep/soulful house and even latin house, of course.

Oh yeah - and some Brazilian records would be good too. Like... stuff on the Far Out label. I've been trying to snag a lot of 12" off of them. Anything new by Azymuth, Joyce, Marcos Valle, Vertente, Seu Jorge, Grupo Batuque, etc. etc.

Let me konw where the good spots are. Most likely I'll hit up Time's Square for a little while on Saturday which is admittedly pretyt commercial, and I doubt there'll be much there that I'm looking for. I definitely want to go to some pretty good record shops & since it's NY, they've gotta have some kickin' spots. Thanx!
