Since my team HANSA got relegated last season I now have to show more interest in 2. Bundesliga.
I think it would be a good idea to discuss topics regarding the next 2. Bundesliga season in a separate joint thread.
These are the teams:
SpVgg Greuther Fürth
1.FC Dynamo Dresden
1.FC Saarbrücken
VfL Bochum
FC Energie Cottbus
Eintracht Braunschweig
LR Ahlen
TSV 1860 München
F.C. Hansa Rostock
Kickers Offenbach
SC Freiburg
SV Wacker Burghausen
SpVgg Unterhaching
SC Paderborn 07
Karlsruher SC
Sportfreunde Siegen
FC Erzgebirge Aue
TSV Alemannia Aachen
I believe that 1860, VfL Bochum, SC Freiburg, Greuther Fürth, Alemannia Aachen might play for the promotion spots.
Hansa´s team is not very competitive due to financial difficulties. If they really rely on the current squad I can´t see a promotion at all and fear the worst for our future...

I can see Hansa coming back, although losing Litmanen, while inevitable, is bad. you guys still have Hartmann at least, he's quality IMO. Lapaczinski wasn't so bad either. You guys are like our feeder team now!!
And you got some ok pickups, good enough for 2. Bundesliga, like Zsolt Low, the Hungarian international and Konde. I think you guys will be fine, you'll be competing w/ 1860 for sure.

I think you are wrong about your team. I think you guys will be right back in the thick of the race.
I agree with you on the teams who will be fighting for the top three spots, but I'd add Hansa in with them.

I don´t know everybody is very nervous atm as Hansa don´t have a number 10 yet.

I hope for Hansa, Dresden and Fürth for promotion, wouldn't mind Aachen or Freiburg neither, though.
and I wouldn't miss Braunschweig and Cottbus...

They'll find one. Even if it's a young kid no one has heard of.....

I will be following the Bundesliga 2 with great interest. All TWO (count'em 2) Cdns in the Bundesliga 1 moved on to other teams this off season so I will be following:
1. Daniel Imhoff - VfL Bochum (signed this summer from Swiss side St. Gallen)
2. Kevin McKenna - Energie Cottbus (returns to Germany after 3 seasons in Edinburgh with Heart of Midlothian) - married a young lady from Cottbus too!
3. Tam Nsaliwa - FC Saarbrucken
4. Nik Ledgerwood - 1860 Muenchen (with 1860 reserves but with a chance to move up during the season - played against Werder Bremen earlier this week).
5. Robert Kerek - in U17/U18 set up with SC Freiburg but also represented Canada at U17 level.
Note that there is a slim chance I'll see Maycoll Canizales currently with Hannover 96 amateurs (Oberliga) get a shot in the Bundesliga 1.
Looking for 1860 to promote and possibly Bochum. Not much chance for Saarbrucken and Cottbus.

1860 and Bochum are top favourites to get promoted.
Would be happy, if Aachen or Fürth get promoted,
cause it was so close the last seasons

Now that's a true 1. FCN fan. I don't think I could say that about Fuerth. I'd love to see the Franken Derby happen in the 1. Liga!!
I just don't think I ever will.......

No Fürth in the Bundesliga please!
I'd love to see Aachen, Dresden and Freiburg, but I guess it won't happen.

VfL Bochum for sure... 1860 behind them, and then a surprise team, Aachen lost players that mattered so i dont believe they'll cut it, Fuerth, will once again not make it, Cottbus, dont want them in the first anymore, Dresden or Braunschweig would be nice though.

After I have read this article (http://sport.sportal.de/de/nncs/fussball/2005/07/25/107453.html)
about how much other teams in 2. Bundesliga are spending for new players,
I am much more optimsitic for Hansa that they might be able to make it.
1.7 Million in total for 131 players! And it looks like Fürth has had a complete makeover. So it is hard to judge them.

I'm surprised that people are discounting Aue, given how well they did last season. I don't see Fuerth being much more of a threat than Aue, to be frank. Greuther's squad has been chopped and changed a lot over the close season and thus might take a while to get going (the opposite to last season when it started so well but fell away badly towards the end of the season.)

Aue does not have the quality of Bochum or 1860 either tho, but hey who knows they might be the surprise team i was talking about
