Playing Thursday.

Should be Defoe and Mido upfront, hopefully Tainio with Carrick in centre midfield and Routledge on the right wing.

Sociedad played a lot better against Boca, but Peter Ndlovu reckons we should beat them. I hope so.

We would go on to play Lyon in the final. they drew 1-1 with PSV and Once Caldas only won 1-0 against the South Korean team (they needed 2-0 to win the group).

Hopefully Huddlestone and King will play centre back. I have a sneaky feeling that it will be Keane and Mido upfront then if we get to the final it will be Kanoute and Defoe so that Jol has looked at the all the partnerships on this tour. I dont think Reid will play on Thursday, so it may be Lennon on the right, Routledge on the left.

My pick would be...

Cerny
Kelly King Huddlestone Edman
Routledge Carrick Tainio Lennon
Keane Mido

Then if all is well put Marney on for Kelly to give him a rest, maybe Gardner for Huddlestone too and if we need to attack more throw El Hamdaoui on too for either Mido or Tainio.

Doh! Course he is. Saw him on the sub's bench on Monday. I'm getting senile in my old age.

So it's 1-0 to the yids eh? And they're down to 10 men. Superb.

Keep the updates coming in (with a bit more colour perhaps?) as i'm stuck at work

46mins: GOAL. Alonso latched onto pass and through on Fulop, Davenport back in to make fine tackle but then hooked ball up in the air and De Paula slotted into empty net.
Real Sociedad 1, Spurs 1

47mins: SAVE. Prieto lovely chip from 20 yards but Fulop up to the task with full-length tip over.

49mins: Fulop darted out to gather at feet of De Paula.

Davenport showing his Southampton quality.

Do we need to win or would a draw suffice?
