It's nice to see that Jose still brings about the contreversy like he did with FC Porto.
Seeing as how I think Mourinho is GOD, it's like I keep telling everyone I know that it's all a psycological game, not used against other Prem coach's but used on his players.
Just like he did with Porto.....
He seperates those who don't want to go to war with him (Parker & Geremi) then builds a strong bond with the remaining players.
He then uses the press to make everyone hate him and the club.
He then uses that as motivation to keep his players going and wanting to win everything. He tells them that everyone wants us to loose, so let's go out there and kick ass.
It's the same thing time & time again.
He acts like he's better then you.
He tells you that he's better then you.
He goes out there and proves that he's better then you.
And then he just quickly fades away and let's the Chelsea/Porto supporters laugh in the other clubs face.
That's why Mourinho is GOD.
Give Paulo time to adapt to the strentgh and pace of the Prem league and I gurantee you he will be the best fullback to ever play with your club.
Still not sure if Carvalho is fit for the Prem though. He didn't look great at times, although he did have some injury problems.

I agree. I have a feeling he will work wonders with Crespo and turn him into one of the leagues most devastating strikers. Also, im sure it is just this psychological crap that made Cole the player he became at the end of the season, and to be honest, I feel Mourinho may be perfect for now at the club, bonding a constellation of stars and getting them to play well together, however, with due time, said psych stuff will not work eventually. The players will be thinking "Oh, this crap again". Etc. However, in that span where he still has control over the team, CFC will have unprecedented glory.

Good point, but knowing Mourinho he will distance himself from players who he can no longer motivate and bring in new ones who can.
The true danger is what happens when Mourinho leaves.
In Porto's case the players just weren't able to adapt when Mourinho left. So much so that Porto went through 3 coach's last year and another new one for this campaign. Evey coach was complained about by the players last year. When Mourinho was in charge the only one's who complained were the ones who wanted to leave.
The rest were luyol and became Portuguese, Uefa, Champions League, and World Club Champions.

I thought Carvalho did well. He got thrown into the starting lineup in a new league and did well. He should be even better this year. He's got a year under his belt to adapt to the English game and he needs time to develop a partnership with Terry. Once they've done that, they'll be unbeatable. But you're right, there were times where he had problems and that comes down to his injuries and lack of time with Terry. There were games you could tell he was playing hurt. I remember seeing games towards the end of the season where he was constantly holding his shoulder.
As for Ferreira, he was missed towards the end of the season while he was injured. Him being gone left a hole on the right side.

Jose M. reminds me alot of Steve Spurrier. He's good and he knows it. And
is quite comfortable with it.
A quick story:
7 or 8 years ago, a few days before the Georgia v. Florida game, Coach
Spurrier was asked how he thought the game would go. he said something
like this; "Well, we're a better football team than Georgia, so I reckon we'll
win."
That is very refreshing in these days of politically correct wussiness.
I am a Georgia Bulldog fan, too.
Florida won the game by something like 6 TD's.

gotta say it... i get a kick out of people labeling jose mourinho as 'god'. with the kind of money that he has to work with, pretty much anyone could 'manage' chelsea to a prem title. a real manager can do it without the infinitely deep pockets - wenger, anyone??

It's nothing new, Ferguson was doing a similar thing at Manu for years, telling the players that everyone out there wanted them to fail..etc.etc. Every manager tries to find a lever to get their players to give an extra 10%. JM's obviously an improvement over Ranieri though, who after spending countless millions came out and stated he didn't think Chelsea would win the league that season..now THATS motivation!
