I doubt Leicester will make it past Wednesday, both the team and the date, in the Wortho Cup. [...] I doubt we'll even see the likes of Muzzy Izzet and Ian Walker[...]

Izzet and Walker both were there. Unfortunately. <sigh>

Yeah, and Leicester managed to pull off one hell of a comeback...

I would not have been surprised if both of them had been rested for the trip to Norwich in three days and based on Micky's comments about the Cup and League. But now that Leicester are through, I wonder what's next.

Aresenal loses to Sunderland! 2-3. Arsenal whipped the living hell out of them just a month ago!! Now I understand they used a lot of subs but still, this is not good for them at all.

Results of those games:

Blackburn 2–2 Walsall (Blackburn win 5–4 on penalties)
Newcastle 3-3 Everton (Everton win 3–2 on penalties)
Crystal Palace 3–0 Coventry
Liverpool 3–1 Southampton

It was a day of upsets and wild affairs. Both Walsall and Everton scored own-goals in extra time and came back to tie.

… and what a comeback by the Blades against Leeds! But the scenes afterwards were disgraceful to say the least.

The WC is looking very interesting this year. Lots of Premiership teams dropping out (only 8 left!) and plenty of lower league teams in with a chance of winning it. I'd like to see Everton win the cup this year.

Even though your lot are still in it?

Funny as it may sound coming from a well known Red Devil hater like me I wouldn't actually mind seeing Man United win the Worthington Cup this year.

It would probably be deemed a greater insult than not winning anything at all!! :D

When they don't win anything they can hide behind their manager and say it was just bad luck or what have you, but if they won this then they couldn't and they'd finally just have to face facts and realize they aren't good enough to win anything else!

Subversion is sweet stuff.

Yeah. I would prefer us to win the Premiership, FA Cup or CL than the WC.

Would have had a better chance with a kinder draw ;)
