Hartford should definitely have a team, otherwise the league is worthless.
Hartford ?? They don't even have an USL 1 or 2 team. Be realistic. :)

Virginia has a great potential . It has USL teams and top college squads. Of course a regional derby vs DC united would be the cherry on the top. :)

[QUOTE=KYHS Soccer]I personally think that Major League Soccer should hold off a bit on expanding. Everytime the league expands they weaken the quality of the average player. Proof of that is the garbage players of this season (Melamed, Ward etc.). I think that it is also wrong for MLS to assume that since a market has a large Hispanic population, that it could support a football club. Rochester would probably be a better choice because they have proved that they already have a solid fan base and the product should only get better when they get promoted to the US' top league.

Including the San Jose Earthquakes or the MLS, that was part of the initial US let, North American Soccer League....may not survive.

Well...the earthquakes are leaving california, so maybe after a year or two a team could come and start up in norcal again, but in a city that will do more to cooperate with the team.
If San Jose EArthquakes are denied existence by the MLS & their deep pocket corporation, AEG...then as a fan since 1974, I will cease to support the MLS or any other MLS team that comes to the bay area.
MLS can go kiss my ass. My money & support will be spent with Sheffield Wednesday, Valencia or Barca.

MLS needs a team in the Bay Area, to be sure, but I can't help but think that San Jose was/is not the ideal place for one - the two strikes against it being that the population is concentrated more heavily in the North Bay than the South, and the fact that San Jose is inaccessible by BART (and if I'm not mistaken, the Caltrain station in San Jose isn't exactly close to Spartan, either). San Francisco probably would have been prohibitively expensive, but even then, Oakland would have made a lot more sense.

I'd rather not see any more expansion until we get a higher level of talent. Once we do I'd like to see a team in...

I do hope that MLS has a plan for future expansion, but they need to wait awhile before they add more teams. Also they need to up the amount of money each team can spend on players, that will help bring up the level of play.

I think we should just bring Miami Fusion FC back to MLS or the Mutiny

Maybe, if there was relegation/ promotion like in Europe and S. America then Miami Fusion and Tampa Bay Mutiny may have survived in the lower leagues until ready for MLS again.

I think Rochester, NY deserves a team. The Rhino's (USL 1) usually draw more than 8,000 fans each game and can draw as many as 14,000 fans in a game each season. In fact, the average attendence of a Rhino's game is better than a few MLS squads already. Top that off with the fact that Rochester is nearing completion on a 22,000 seat Soccer Specific Stadium.... I think you have exactly the kind of community MLS should be drooling over.
When the soccer team draws bigger average crowds than the AAA baseball team, you know you have found a true soccer town.
Rochester deserves a bid into MLS.

Everyone thinks that Rochester Rhinos will end up in the MLS fold, but when, that's the question.

I've read somewhere that of all the MLS teams , KC and SJ didn't sell any season tickets for the upcoming season. What that means is possibly a move is eminent for these teams.

The issue with the Rhino's is money. They dont have the deep pockets it would take. They need to find sugar daddy, Duross does not have the money it takes to get to MLS.
I also belive they used the MLS card to get the money they needed to build the new park.
