Do you guys know how good Tainio and Stalteri are. please tell me
i know nothing of Stalteri as he is already injured, but I am sure he will be a solid contributer as RB. based on his european pedigree.
Tainio has looked good in pre season, and has caught the eye of Martin Jol. I've also caught a couple of international games and games while at Auxerre and he has played very consistently, he looks like he's got bag's of stamina, a good touch, excellent control and an eye for the pass or goal. So all in all I think he will shine in the Prem. He is a Tottenham fan so good by me. :D
BTW why do you support Spurs and Chelsea? :confused:

Stalteri does nothing time and time again for the Canadian national team (probably because he has no one to work with) but worked his ass off while he was with W.Bremen.
I'd be worried about his health now as he gets older. The overwork and hard style of play he used to posses in his younger days might start to catch up with him now.

Well I hope Kelly starts at RB anyway. Finally made my mind up this preseason. I'm sure Stalteri will be great back up though.

T Reis is from Oakville, just up the road from here.. about the same distance as Brampton (where Stalteri is from).
When we signed him, Jol and the defected one said he brought a winning attitude and experience of european football at the highest level. Plus he's played over 50 times for Canada (although Cobi Jones has 145 caps for the US and he's shite, except in the MLS).
So it seems we have bought a player who will add a presence on the field, training or matchday, in the dressing room and be of great help to the youngsters in the team - and we know there's loads of them!! He must be a decent player too, Bremen won the league and have been in the CL the past few seasons.
Tainio, i used to buy him on the old CM games, he was an AM F RC! Now he's a centre midfielder. I don't know much about him, but that Auxerre side of a few years ago destroyed Arsenal and caused a lot of teams lots of problems. Players like Kapo, Mexes, Cisse, and Tainio was in that. Pre-season performances make him out like a worldbeater, confident on the ball and a good passer, good link man sort of player. Have to see.. can't wait for the season!

Tainio also looks so competitive which is good. I remember that Auxerre team winning 2-1 (i think) against Arsenal at the Library.

Stalteri might be needed for experiance as our defence is pretty young but i wouldn't mind seeing Kelly starting as he's made great progress :)
Tainio looks pretty good in pre season so far.

I agree Colm, if the back four is Kelly-King-Dawson-Edman, Edman will be the oldest at 26.
