As a reminder to folks, anyone can play, but the bigsoccer.com managerliga is limited to 18 participants on a first-come, first-served basis (last year, we had a full complement; the year before we had 17, I think; I would imagine that if we have sufficient numbers, we can start a second league--I think you need six to have a league). Once you get to the Manager game page, you'll see a bar at the top with four choices: Classic, Intertactive, Managerliga, and Infos. The Infos section provides information regarding the league, auf Deutsch. I think the first thing you need to do, if you haven't already done so, is register. Since I was previously registered, I'm not sure exactly what you need to do in that regard, but it is not hard.

Once registered, you have to pick two teams: your Classic Team, and your Interactive Team. You have a budget for each. The Classic Team is limited to I think 15 players. Once you pick this team, you can't change it, and you can't switch a reserve and a starter (the game does it automatically). This team is not the team you use for the Managerliga. The team you use for the Managerliga is the Interactive Team. You pick the Interactive Team the same way you pick the Classic Team: there is a roster of players on the right, and you drag the player you want to a vacant spot. BTW, you can pick an Interactive Team entirely different from your Classic Team. After you pick both, then you can go to Managerliga and sign up for our league with the league name and password. This is a simplied version of the process. If you read German, you'll have no problems signing up. If you don't, it will be a bit more difficult, but you can still manage. Plus, you can post questions here and someone will answer.

You can pick up to 4 from the same team, but only start 3. So you needed to move one of the Berliners to the sub's bench and move one of your subs to the starting line-up (that's what the message says--you have too many Berliners in your starting line-up). I had Simunic two years ago, and he was a total dog for me. Of course, last year, he was very good. Which Joe will show up this year? Can't go wrong with Friedrich or Marcelinho, though.
