Guys (and the 1 lady amongst us, or are there more?) i need some help. Im tempted to get some Umbro Elite X boots online but don't know how they'll fit. I had the XAI 2's and i wore a uk 10.5 in those, but i reckon i could get into an umbro uk 10, but wot bout Elite X lite, r they narrow like the Vapours cos they r pretty much a carbon copy!
I looked on PDS for da sizing advise and it said, generally true to size, but they also said that bout vapours. Wot u think?
Surely one of ya must own a pair or know someone who has a pair.
Cheers

I have both the detachable and molded pairs.
They are nothing like the Vapors. They are wider in the toe box than a Nike Vapor or Puma KSL. They are slightly longer in the toe than a Puma KSL. I'd say they are about the size of an Adidas Mania [with possible slight exception to width and form]. I wear my general size in the Umbro Elite Xs and think that anyone else would. Although, if you are used to wearing Diadora you may want to go a half size bigger [I'm basing this off a pair of Diadora Cobras I owned which I felt ran large].
If any of this is helpful... I could use some good rep. : )

Alright. Not sure where to start without people asking specific questions, but here goes...
I've had them since spring and use them moderately often.
They are made of a very thin synthetic material. The mateial will crease and mark easily. The threading seems to have frayed a bit on the upper since I've had them. They don't seem too durable, but aren't designed to be. They are designed to be a) lightweight b) waterproof c) comfortable.
If you are all about kangaroo leather than this may not be the boot for you. However if you are used to wearing calfskin leather or synthetics than you shouldn't be disappointed by the feel of the upper.
My foot is somewhat flat, short and fat. For example, I can't fit into a pair of Vapors correctly, and took a long time to break in a pair of KSL's. The Umbros however felt good from the start and fit my foot well. They seem like they would fit anyone's foot well form the way they are made. The one problem I have had is arch pain in my right boot. I'm not sure if this is a product of my foot or the boot, but at times the KTK soleplate doesn't seem to flex well under the arch. I think this is more down to my foot shape than the boot, but the boot doesn't exactly help.
The laces are fat and round, but stay tied.
The boot holds little to no water in very wet conditions.
I have had no discernable problems with touch or control while using the boot. They don't provide a certain "cast-iron" boot feel that can come with a durable, yet well broken-in calfskin. I've often felt I could make harder contact with greater ease in my Puma KSLs but I haven't truly tested the Umbros over a large enough period of time.
...
If there are any other specific questions or if I have missed anything I will elaborate further.
Hope this helps.

yeah, thanks for the review. I was contemplating getting a pair, and according to the soccer shop here, eurosport bought ALL that's right, EVERY pair of umbro x lites. So if I wanted a pair I had to go through eurosport; however I didn't want to wait, and shipping bums me out... ANYWAYS... After reading that review, I'm kind of bummed I didn't get a pair as I bought the f50+ instead..which suck, and I would've like to tried the umbros. who knows maybe they'll be my next pair
(i will not buy any more football boots, i will not buy any more football boots,i will not buy any more football boots,i will not buy any more football boots,i will not buy any more football boots,)

Great review and some rep points will be comin ur way, if you can tell me how light they feel. Lighter than the Puma King SLs (?) cos i have a pair of those and although they are kind of light i am hoping that these will be a bit lighter for me. I wear a UK10 with da PK SL so will i be ok to stay wit the same size. I wear a UK10.5 with Pulses but adidas make their their shoes quite small.
So, how light comapred to PK SLs and will i be ok in a size 10?
Cheers, help me out REP POINTS FOR U MY FRIEND!!! ;)

They feel much lighter to me.
Less water retention than the KSLs. More width than a Nike Vapor and less pointy than a Diadora Cobra
The biggest thing I liked about the KSLs was there fit/feel in the wet weather. When the fall hits in Buffalo the rain comes down hard, it really softens the calfskin and makes them and incredible boot in my opinion.
But back to the X Lites. Once again, they feel lighter than the KSLs. It's not a immense difference like going from a old school leather to a new age synthetic, but it's noticable to me.
Sizing.
When I got the KSL they were very VERY snug. I was worried they would be too tight. I had to leather food them to death and wear them around the house for a week or so before I took them outside. Even still the toe box is very cramped on me for that size [mostly because of width not length, my feet are too wide for their length]. I like my shoes very snug though.
The X Lites out of the box felt slightly bigger than the KSLs. They didn't need any break-in, although you can get blisters. I mean any boot is gonna give you blisters if you play enough football. I hate to give final advice on sizing, b/c it does vary from person to person, but I think you should be ok with the same size as your KSLs. Unless you have a fat foot like me and got a larger size KSL to compensate for that. Then you might want to go a half size down in the Lite Xs because they seem to have a wider toe box IMHO.
Again, hope this helps.
Sorry, but no pics yet.
