AppleCORR is sponsored by Nike, so is my cousin. Thats all i can think of at the moment. I probably get more free stuff off Nike than he does, so they sponsor me and him in technicality lol :cool:

Playin in tournamaets sponsered by Nike, and hoping a nike representive see yous. If they liek the way you play and think you have a good chance to promote there shoes they probally will tlak to you. They just dont give you free stuff, you gotta wear it, and become basically a wlaking billboard. Theyre hope is that people will see you donig good in a pair of vapors and want a pair themselves. Or that youll get your picture published in a national magazine and they get free advertising that way.

A few weeks ago, i was in a local sports shop looking at some new vapors i am planning on getting for when turf begins to become a bit softer and noticed a couple of men staring at me, i let it go for the first 5 minutes of looking at the boot and then started looking at them. One of the men then approached me and asked if i wear nike boots, i replied yes and was asked if we could discuss a 'variety' of things in a local cafe. I accepted and found out that they were two representatives from Nike and wre down to find out information about young football players. They asked for a few detail of me saying what i thought the best nike boot was..cough cough THE VAPOR cough cough lol, what club i played for, my football 'on the pitch' knowledge t and to describe what i liked about the vapors the most and why i wear them. the conversation lasted roughly forty five minutes and at the end of the convo, one of the nike representatives gave me their card and asked if i would kindly call later. I accepted and called later on that week and was told that i would recieve a pair of nike vapors every season, colour and sole plate of my choice. The reaosn for this is because they felt that 'i' for some reason would be a good way to promote nike football boots along with quite a few others who they had previously spoken to weeks/months ago.
I was delighted with this..OBVIOUSLY! as this saves me £140.00 quid a season!!.....good thread by the way..

Makes sense I guess. At the end of the day it depends on a lot of things. That is top of the tree though.

I meant it's (not being cr@p) probably the most important thing that they take into account when deciding who to sponsor in semi pro/pro football. They will also take into account the league, position you play, your team, area of the country, personal skills, maybe even race - who knows I personally can't say how they pick people to sponsor. That's my opinion, they try to cover a diverse range of people to advertise their boots to show they are 'accessible to all' so to speak. And I didnt think you were being rude dude! :)

I mean with you who knows, maybe it was right place right time, maybe they had followed you around for 2 months looking for the perfect opportunity to talk to you lol - we will never know.....

Yh i am on contract at Southend United Football Club, and i agree, it is fantastic to give me an oppertunity at representing nike lolol....also thanks to all the people who persuaded me to get the vapor coz if u hadnt, i would have replied to the nike rep when he asked what boot i wore.... "f50+" i woudl of looked like a right clown!..so cheers applecorr and ovaz.......and the best thing of all....i look better them than you do so HA lolololololololol joking applecorr c ya..........
