You are who you pretend to be.

What league is better? Forget about National Team Play. Be objective.
Your thoughts.

Mexico has a winning record against Colombian teams in Copa Lib.
If im not mistaken we had never lost against a Colombian team up to this edition when Chivas lost to Once Caldas.

and? are we talking about libertadores only?? or history, titles and the amount of plapyers produced?..in the last 2 years we have exported more players than Mexico has exported in it's whole history.

I was thinking more along the lines of: Number of Big Clubs, fan support, infrastructure, money, salaries, power etc.

Economy theres no discussion there Mexico;s teams are owned by companys..comparing that to Colombia in which it's Illegal for that to happen.
Fan support i wouldn't know you also have to look at the countries population. I heard in this Colombian radio show that Nacional de Medellin had the highest assitance record in the Americas beating teams like River plate..teams like America and NAcional can put around 15.000 in away games... and there's some teams in second divisions with 25.000 assitance. Even with all the insecurity you see bus loads of fans going to away games. In Mexico Chivas (who is said to have more than 10 million fans) didn't fill their stadium in most Copa Libertadores games. They did in semis and quarter finals.
Infrastructure.. Colombia has one of the best youth programs in the whole contient there are teams working with more than 1000 kids... and that's only first division imagine the local leagues like the one in Bogota that has around 120 teams... stadiums I would say Mexico has really nice stadiums so they take that...Marketing Mexico takes that..

We have Primera A,B,C torneo de Reservas and Regional leagues. Mexico has right about the same with the only problem is that they don't have promotion which makes it worthless.

Its very simple...Colombia is a distant 4th in the Americas. Significantly behind Brazil, Mexico & Argentina...and all the future Libertadores will show that reality. With Mexican team participation in Libertadores at full swing...it will take special circumstances for teams outside of that Trio to make the Quarterfinals....ever again.
