they kick arse in the first round, and go down like a $5 whore soon thereafter. So, from now on they are "Kings Of the First Round" or KOFR. How do you like it VS?

Well, they did lose a game in the first round also. Plus, it's not like they're a weak side. I'm sure the US will someday in the future go out in the Gold Cup earlier than we want. I'm gonna go ahead and assume that it wasn't an A team, maybe above a B team however; it's beside the point anyway.

Were Marquez or Borgetti playing today? Don't get my wrong, but I think Messico didn't care whether they won this one.

No one likes to see them lose more than me, but I just didn't recognize anyone out there.

My wife, who saw me do the happy dance when the 2nd goal went in, would respectfully disagree.

Borgetti was suspended and Marquez went out early with an injury (not serious).
I watched the whole game on Univision today, and it just seemed that Columbia was better. Mexico were lucky the game wasn't 4-1.

There was just something really comical about that second Colombian goal. The keeper looked retarded running backwards, losing sight of the ball then making a girlish swat at the ball but missing it entirily.....:D....still laughing about it.
He wasn't even trying to shoot on goal.

Not that I was cheering for them, but I gotta admit I was a wee bit disappointed to see them crash out so early...my glee that they lost was balanced by my disappointment that we won't get to kick their asses out of the tournament ourselves. We'll just have to wait until Sept. 3.....

you know, we Yanks know we are not the best in the world, but we RARELY have our first team together because our boys are all over the globe.I know what you were saying, but this is the CONCACAF championship, and no excuses are permitted. If we f##cked up and crashed out playing like ElTri did today, we would certainly not blame it on the fact that we missed half our team. We would just say we sucked today.

I disagree. I think he was trying a chip. He was the farthest player and he struck it hard, so he couldn't have been passing the ball.

Mexicans did not care....right. The stands were full. Need I say more?
Mexico did not have their A team. Well, the way their fans banter on these boards, Mexico is full of great players. According to them, Mexico could bring their F team and still win. You can't have it both ways Mexico. You can't claim your team has so much depth and then tell everyone this team lost cause it was your C team.

disagree completely....no way was it a "shot" he was just trying to beat the opponent to the ball, went in hard and whacked the crap out of it....IT WAS NOT INTENDED AS A SHOT....

I agree
Actually Mexico had a bunch of regulars in there today. They probably put fewer first-string guys out there as we did against Jamaica, however. Mexico was simply beaten today on a fluky goal. It happens. And yes, I think he was trying to "shoot" the ball over in the general area of the goal. But there's no way he could remotely aim the ball in the position he was in.

Mexico was beaten fair and square today. Columbia was just a better team. They were creating better chances.

How about "The Team that Doesn't Knock the Ball Out-of-Bounds When the Other Team Has a Player Down and Starts an Attack Instead." Classless crap.
