Well you have from here to thursday to rant about line ups and score lines and all that crap so enjoy!!!
Giants stadium the worst place to see a game fake grass pleanty of carpet burns and my fav the always non Customer Service of the Nazi storm troopers called NJSEA security.... I read some where that not long ago these guys love to STEAL cell phone with camaras so please leave them at home or in your car no sence getting robbed by the d!ck heads that are suppose to "protect" you...
Be advised that throwing paper can hurt fellow spectators and cause litter at the stadium so the guards may eject you for this type of behavior....the anti soccer mentality will only be happy to see you spend $$$ on their food and watered down drinks...
Semi finals have arrived and the tme for action has arrived US is way better than honduras but I'll be happy with a 2-1 or 3-1 victory I dont think it will be a walk in the park but US should win it.....
lots of rival fans will go....
but i'm sure there will be a good support for the US soccer team
The stupid Governer of New waste land Jersey should be very very excited that the US national anthem will be played after which this flag waving patriot should have no personal problems with this event......
TO the Fowards of the US National team all i have to say is WAKE UP and put it in the nets already!!
On a serious note I ask all US Fans NOT TO BUY FOOD OR DRINKS OR ANYTHING at this abortion called giants stadium it will only go to NJSEA pockets... do all your drinking and eatting outside....no sence in helping out an entity that has raped and mistreated and abused NJ fans and MLS Metros More times than ike turner has abused, raped or mistreated Tina Turner....

Tell us how you really feel about Giants Stadium and New Jersey. On another note, is there any chance Univision picks up the US game?

You wont have to worry about the artificial grass. Sod was laid for the Gold Cup (and Real Madrid). But both teams seemed to think that the sod was less than ideal after the Metro/ Rapids match. Hopefully it will be better in 5 days.

I was watching Mex-Col on Univision and they advertised for the U.S. game on thursday, sooo, allegedly, it will be on. About time.

Univision owns Telefutura and they often advertise telefutura matches on Univision. Are you sure it said it would be on Univision?

The USMNT-Honduras match will be on Telefutura at 6 pm (ET)/3 pm (PT) and the Colombia-S.Africa/Panama semi will be on Univision at 9 pm (ET)/6 pm (PT).
It was a bit bittersweet, hearing that Colombia beat Mexico, because I WANTED the USMNT to beat the Mexies in the final next weekend but I'm also Colombian, so I'm happy that they won.
MY lineup for Honduras:
--------------------------------Keller------------------------
Hejduk--------------Pope---------------Onyewu-------Vanney
-----------------------------Mastroeni-----------------------
--Ralston-------------------------------------------Beasley--
-------------------------------O'Brien------------------------
---------------Donovan--------------------Wolff--------------
Subs: Dempsey, Noonan & Quaranta, if behind. Conrad, Armas & Dempsey, if ahead.
NO reason to change the lineup from the Jamaica game, except for Cherundolo. Even if he's fine (which we all pray he is), I'd hold him out until the final. HOPE we don't see Sanneh anywhere on the bench!!
I see a 2-0 victory for the USMNT!!! Goals by Donovan & O'Brien!!

So have we decided if the Gold Cup winner is guaranteed a spot in the next Confederations Cup? And if so, and we make the finals but lose to South Africa or Colombia don't we get the spot as the highest finish in CONCACAF?

I predict 2-1 USA wins over Honduras, CR could have won, the first two goals were horrible mistakes from the back line. I'm sure BA is using the tape to prepare our team

Haven't checked recently, but I can't see anyone else representing Concacaf but the best finisher from the confederation in its championship tournament. If the last 2 teams went out in the semis, I'm not sure what they would do, but that won't be a problem this tournament.

Confederations Cup is every 4 years so the next one should be in 2009 assuming FIFA doesn't make any changes. Gold Cup is every 2 years so the champ this time gets the title only.
The CONCACAF champ is the last CONCACAF team remaining. So for example if S.A. beats Panama, then the US vs. Honduras game winner will be the actual CONCACAF champion regardless of who wins the Gold Cup championship game next Sunday.
The CONCACAF champ gets the Confederations Cup ticket not the Gold Cup winner.

Do you have a link for your conclusion about the "last CONCACAF team remaining"?
Suppose Colombia beats Mexico, Panama and the US to win the Gold Cup. There might have to be a playoff involving Mexico, Panama and the US. It will be determined at the time the situation occurs, and it will be determined by the Executive Committee.
According to the official rules available in pdf format from the concacaf site, it says:
"3. The CONCACAF member who wins the Gold Cup commits to represent
CONCACAF in the FIFA Confederations Cup, the Inter-Confederation Cup
and/or the Copa America. In the event that a member of CONCACAF does not
win the competition, the Executive Committee will establish the system to
determine the Representative based on the total number of teams, the
number of guest teams and the final standings. An invited team from another
Confederation cannot represent CONCACAF should such invited team win the
Gold Cup."

Actually the last Confederations Cup was in 2003 when the US participated in France. So its every 2 years unless they changed it to every 4.

I don't have a link offhand but I'll try to find one (at work today so time is limited). I remember the discussion from the last Gold Cup because the final was Mexico vs. Brazil.
Dixie:
The Confed Cup was changed to every 4 years from what I heard. Too many countries complained to FIFA about a crowded schedule so they changed it.
