We have been arguing over who will lead the team in scoring next season so lets end the fighting and vote on it.

Could be a three way tie again like last season, Gerrard, Baros, and Garcia all had 13 IIRC.

This year hw will be returning to his defensive duty with the addition of zenden.

I'm not sure if Zenden is an upgrade to Riise or not. With his versatility I think he'll be used primarily for depth at a variety of positions.
Riise played more minutes than anyone last season, I believe. Hard to imagine Zenden coming in and totally relieving him of his LM duties.

I think zenden will be an upgrade, and riise will play like gio did for barcelona last season.

Do you mean badly?
Giovanni Van Bronckhorst was probably the weakest player on the Barca side, take a look at the Superclasico in Madrid, Gio was made to look foolish.
Riise was amazing in the Left Midfield role last season why move him back to the back?

Zenden wont play all the games, im sure riise will feature on the left side of midfield a lot this season, just mainly at the back, kind of a shame though, hes got such a powerful shot, maybe he will win that spot back, cant zenden play on the right? i thought he was double footed

I dont know much about zenden but i still think riise shouldnt go back to his defensive duties he is rock solid upfront nourishing the strikers with some fluid passes and all in all his left volleys are absolutely astonishing i think the right word to use with riise/zenden is rotation.

If we do sign a top-class right winger like Figo, Garcia will spend a lot of time on the left. That will provide even further competition for Zenden, Riise, or Gonzalez. Riise has already played at left-back in the preseason, and there is less competition for places there.

Well I think you right there but doesnt rafa prefer garcia playing the role in the center just behind the strikers he likes running in and getting the strikes himself.
There is no other person to look for at LB but if traore is out riise goes back thats how i would see it otherwise i am confident in riises current position.

At the moment we have 4 quality strikers, and Rafa has used 2 up front throughout the preseason. So Garcia probably won't be spending much time as withdrawn foward (especially in league games). He will have to fit in either on the right or the left side of midfield. The flexibility in the squad and the competition for places is definetly a good thing. Nobody has a single position and nobody is guaranteed a place in the first eleven.

Thats what I like when players are not guaranteed a spot in the first eleven I see battles between players and that will eventually lead to a winning team however there are times when you start thinking what the f### is he doing in the squad (hint:the aussie) but Rafa is a magician and i trust all our new signings and other players will be happy with rafa he knows what the team lacks and he has gone out and tried to sort out some of our weaknesses.
But 1 thing i have already seen is medjani trying to say hey if i dont get first team action i am out of here.
There will be dissapointments from our players and rafa though everything will be lovely this season.
