When Boca and McBride signed for Fulham right after the WC there was not many news around telling us about it, but when Borgetti signed for Bolton and is going to England for the next season, the news are unbelievable, everywhere you will find the news about it...even here in US, not to mention over there in Mexico ....

Borghetti is making news in soccer circles...it's not as if he's up there with Tiger Woods and Lance Armstrong on the US sports pages. McBride didn't sign with Fulham until January 2004, some 18 months after the World Cup and in the off-season for US soccer. The negotiations were kept rather quiet, which is typical of MLS, but once announced, it got a great deal of press attention...

Bocanegra signed around the same time, and with similar MLS style. He wasn't a member of our WC02 squad, so it got less attention....

Also, keep in mind that the idea of a US international playing in the EPL is no longer a story in and of itself. For a variety of reasons, Mexicans have not had a lot of success overseas or in the EPL....

here's betting Borghetti has a tough time finding a mexican restaurant in Bolton....much less a margarita....

Bah, it's not like he can't find a few places in Lancashire...

Forgive me, I know nothing of English geography so I have no idea if this would be like driving all the way from Dallas to Laredo for a taco.

seeing as how you are in San Antonio I would suggest that your idea of a "Mexican restaurant" and Bolton's idea of a "Mexican restaurant"...are not quite the same thing.....unless of course you like "chips (french fries) and peas" with your taco....

Prolly right. Heehee, I went to Colombia a few years ago and after two weeks I was really craving a good old american style burger. So I searched out the first hamburger joint I could find, and lets just say McDonalds on their worst day made a better burger than this place.

I must admit, even though it is in my blood to despise every el tri player when they are playing my nats, I will be anxious to see another fellow concacafer bringing more attention to North America.

Keep in mind he's a better player. I'd trade McBride and Boca for Borghetti.

The sports media tends to cover what the people want to read about. So Borgetti gets more coverage because more people follow the Mexi leagues and El Tri today than followed The Crew and the Nats when McBride was traded.

If you're upset by something, be upset that there are so few MLS and Nats fans out there. The media are just doing their job.

Thankfully your not a GM of a soccer club...because McBride and Borghetti are almost the same player. So you would get rid of a starting EPL defender and McBride to replace them with the mexican version of McBride???
