Now that Patrick viera has signed for Juventus who should Arsenal sign. If I were arsene venger i would sign Pap Bouba Diop from Fullham. He is an excellent defensive midfielder. He can head ,Tackle and pass.All the atributes of a defensive midfielder.The most important thing I admire about him is that he is a better offensive player than viera.

I doubt it. He has a knack for the spectular but as top footballers go he's nothing special.

I can't understand why Wenger would possibly think that Vieira is replaceable and at this late stage :confused: . He was a crucial part of the team and the gap he's left is going to be pretty hard to fill effectively.

He is nearly 30 and getting £13.7 million is a really good price for that.

Wenger is no fool and was Viera that good last season compared to his previous ones.

No player is irreplaceable no matter how good they are.

Carrick is a good player...underrated imo. Would be a good buy, but I think Wenger will have some 18 year old french wonderkid lined up somewhere. He seems to always find good buys :)

I dont think Arsenal will actually miss vieira that much. They have some fantastic midfielders, and I think that Wenger thought that Vieira did not fit into his plans for the new look Arsenal. Vieira is a great player, no-one doubts that, but getting 13.7 mill for a player who is past his prime is a good deal.

Something we should all remember is that Wenger is no fool, he knows what he is doing, and I for one will be interested to see what he does with Arsenal next season
