Our current first team strikers:
Micheal Chopra (last term played with Division 2 Barnsley)
Shola Ameobi (Hurt)
#9 Alan Shearer ( 34 years old)
Kierien Dyer (Injury prone)
:eek: :(
The club must improve this situation before the close of the transfer window or we could be in for a long season.Players I would like to see us make a run at:
In Reach
Andrew Johnson
Milan Baros
Dirk Kuyt
Diego Forlan
Louis Saha
Alan Smith
Robert Earnshaw
Jared Borgetti (http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer/story/3753248)(classic centre forward great in air plays for Mexico :eek: )
Unsettled but expensive
Micheal Owen
Antonio Cassano
Fernando Torres
Rudd Van Nistelrooy
All right then fire away.

Johnson=shít
Baros=never come
kuyt=the most likely one
Forlan=to much píss taking from the press and the game doesn't suit him
Saha=possibly but not sure
Smith=bid already reject...no chance
Earnshaw=not proven and too small for the prem
Borigetti=never trust central american players
Owen=no chance in hell of coming here
Cassano=joining Juve
Torres=wouldn't leave Athletico to join chelsea so no chance
Van Nistelrooy=why would man u sell him to us when other big club would be in for him

Johnson= If you can name somebody that scored more in the Prem last year then him on Tyneside please tell us all.
:rolleyes:
Forlan couldn't get a game on a regualr basis at Manure and any player that leads La Liga in scoring deserves a look.
Earnshaw
2004 Games 31 Goals 11 Pens 2 Assists 1 all with a crap club.
Borgetti= that would be North America and did you see him in the Confederations Cup he is a beast in the air very strong with a goood quick shot. The Prem would be perfect for his game.
RVN is unsettled and it's worth a shot. If we can bid for Rooney why not RVN(and Owen)

owen and rvn are over-rated or 'past-it ' due to injurys and unless they have real madid or manu creating tap ins they aint great so we'd have to have real creative attacking moves, so we need player like aj or some1 who can add more than just tap ins

JESUS CHRIST he is not a good player...yes he may have scored more goals than anyone at newcastle last season but that doesnt change the fact that he's SHÍT!!!!!
He as decleared that he doesn't want to be at palace for about a month now and no one has made any offers for him
If you believe the stories that van nis is unsettled then you are dumber than i thought
If earnshaw is so great why didn't any other clubs sign him?
North American? Central american who really cares...once again if you can tell me any north or central american player that has been sucessful in the prem please tell me..
The fact of the matter is that Kuijt is the only real prospect

None have been accepted. :rolleyes:
So who besides Kuyt would you like to see. For a season ticket holder you are absolutly short on ideas. Post at least of strikers that you think would fit in the club or post anything that states your thoughts on the club rather then being so ********ing negative all the time.

:D Is this Craig Bellamy?? Are you going to send me nasty text messages after you leave and go to the Blackburn board??

I thought I read on one of those "we're signing the Dutch 'keeper" articles that our bid for Kuyt failed? But much like everything else this season, there was either no bid placed, or he'll be showing up tomorrow...
Thx,
Jay!

I know i am short on ideas THAT IS THE PROBLEM i don't know any strikers that are good enough to come to newcastle.
I was saying that if you believe the rumours that the tabloids put out then you shouldn't bother watching football anymore.
Is brad friedel a striker? is tim howard?

Might as well give Chops a shot....
At this point there are few other options.

While we're on the topic how about Eddie Johnson (http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/050419/1/3ihj.html) for the Toon.

Thanks for the English lesson Mr.Webster. I still think A.J. and Dirk Kuyt are the two best options. I hope FF and Souey make some moves soon.

Sorry, Radz is Canadian. And one of the biggest pricks on the planet -- perfect for the Toon. :D

This might be a wee bit contravertial, but I think Souness has said 3 times now to the press "you will be pleased who we will bring in".
I hope I am not reading too much into this, but now that Emre is here and hours from signing, I think the manager maybe has a little more clout and patience in the transfer market than we have given him credit for.
I think we will sign Owen to be fair, and it will be an undisclosed fee which will allow Real to not make the repayment due on Woodgate who is now training again. It is widely known we have not seen the whole 15M yet.
I got to thinking about this and have the following conclusions....
Owen is a naturally good striker, who is loyal and level headed.
He is an England international and direct first choice.
He loves scoring at St. James' Park :D
If you look at his stats from last year (goals per minute on the pitch) he is probably one of the best strikers in Europe.
A season with Alan, could turn him into a wonderful striker and last but not least.....
Micheal Owen with Keiron Dyer behind him...........Andy Cole with Peter Beardsley playing that role......maybe, just maybe.
