That is really awesome. Tix are going to be a bit on the expensive side to say the least, and this year is all about Highbury, so...
agreed...I am going see if I can get a pair through connections..otherwise, maybe just go up to MSG will call night of...

Apparently they are talking about a possible July 21 draft in Toronto... hopefully like the NBA, the NHL will rig the draft and let Toronto take Crosby first :)
Damn... I just realized that I wont be able to pass up on the 130 bucks for the NHL center ice package... ouch... not all good news then...

I don't give a damn where Crosby ends up. (OK, that's a lie. I'd kill to see him in black, green, and gold in Dallas, but it ain't happening). The NHL will rig the thing like the NBA did and the Rangers will end up with him.
In addition to dropping the $130 for Center Ice, I've got to reinstate my Sirius account for their NHL package, as well. Can't drive in the car without having some random hockey game on if the Stars aren't playing.
Lottery will be the 21st, draft on the 30th, and the season will start October 5th.

Cream will perform three shows at New York's Madison Square Garden on October 24, 25 and 26. While no official statement has been made, these performances are believed to be the band's first full stateside shows since disbanding in the late 1960s. As previously reported, Jack Bruce, Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker reunited in early May for a series of appearances at London's Royal Albert Hall. With the exception of a 1993 reunion at the band's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, those three shows marked the group's first performance since disbanding in 1968. Be sure to check back in the coming weeks for more information.

COACH,
so under this new CBA, what do we do with our $80M in salaries? do we buy out the options on turgeon and guerin? i know guerin is due for $11M or somesuch..
i just dont see that team we assembled a couple seasons back as the core anymore..
i know the club are trying to sure up deals with modano and zubov; morrow is signed to a deal as well.. hmm... should be interesting to see who takes the ice come september.

Turgeon will almost assuredly be bought out. As for Guerin, it will cost the Stars $9 million to buy him out but, with the 24% roll back he'll run the Stars $11 million over 2 years. Check out http://sturminator.blogspot.com for the exact numbers.
It really depends on whether Hicks wants to write a $9 million check for nothing as opposed to a $5.5 million one each of the next 2 years for our leading scorer.
Modano will be resigned, and so will Zubov. Don't doubt that. My gut tells me Guerin will be back, as well.

I liked going to Blackhawks games when I lived there for school for 2 years. Closest crowd to the one in Philly. Certainly better than what I've seen here.
Of course, I was in Chicago back when they still got to the playoffs so maybe the crowd has changed since then. ;)

You do get those two clowns on BBC three I think doing coverage at 1am twice a week... or at least that was the case in 2001-2003 when I lived in England. But yeah you're right... coverage stinks. Doesnt Eurosport show some games?

Back in the old stadium. Man I loved that place. When I was in college, we'd scrape together $18 and go get standing room at the top of the thing and look right down on the ice. We pissed in troughs and the beer man was always just a step or two away.
I'm not much for these new stadiums. :(
