I'm a bit sad about this, thought he was a rough diamond. However I'm interested to see what we do for the left side now, think they may need a new left back or move Ziegler to there with another winger to come in.

He has got so much ability on the ball but he never used it in the right places on the pitch.
I think Edman will now cement the left back spot with Ziegler backing him up, if we are to get anyone else it would be a left winger but i dont think it is essential.

yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes!
Everyone is saying that now. But who? There is no one available. As Spurs fans, we know this as we have been linked with nearly every player on the planet.
PS. Atouba must have been the worst signing in the Premiership of the 04/05 season. I can't think of anyone else causing that many heart attacks.

Just trust Jol, i certainly do. I do think Tainio will be given the chance to impress in that position.
Anyway we dont need to panic, we have alot of money to spend and now its about finding the right player.

It just didn't work out for the lad, however at 22, I am sure we have not heard the last about Atouba. He will become good once he understands the positional demands of a LB or LM player.

He already vowed to stay at Dortmund earlier. Mintal would've been nice, though.

Wouldn't be surprised if Bayern Munich picks him up after a couple seasons or so.

Best of luck to him. IMHO, Spurs should have higher quality players than he displayed while here. He's big, has a few nifty skills, but never really amounted to much, was slow of foot, and never really looked like a difference maker to me. I think Germany might be a good fit for him acutally, as his size may be more of a factor there.

A great deal for spurs. Got the dude on a free and got £1.5m.
Good riddance to bad rubbish. Where's he off to? A circus in Northern Germany?
Silky skills but totally brain dead when it comes to understanding the game

That's the best news we've had in a while *pops the champagne open*
I'm glad to see the back of that ice-skating bambi. He was a liability.

As said, it seems a great deal for us. He was a free transfer and we have made about £2m on him. Everyone's a winner. Except Hamburg.

How will he get to Hamburg? Tightrope, unicycle, elephant?

...he'll atempt to do a cartwheel all the way down the Autobahnen.
We didn't get the oaf on a free. We paid £300,000 and sold him for 1.6 million Euro's (approx £1 million).
We made a loss if you think about it. All the medical attention us Spurs fans had to fork out after watching him really mounted up.
We should sue the club for Total Disregard of Human Emotion.

Thank god he is gone and we got a cool million for him. A bit of a Ginger Pele really, dangerous in both boxes!

I think we should be counting our lucky stars that we've managed to get rid of so much crap in the past 12 months or so. Getting money for both Ginger Pele and The Clown is incredible, i'd have paid them both to leave (perhaps that's why i'm a marketing exec and not a CEO).
Now just Bunjy, Jackson, Gardner and a midfielder...

Please don't misunderstand what I am about to say:
Why are players from Africa normally like Atouba. A lot of them are a bag full of useless tricks.
We had a player from Nigeria train with us when I was at Omonia. My god was he rubbish.
All he knew was step-overs. He must have done more than a thousand in the practice games.
He kept falling over himself also. It was very funny.
Sammy Eto'o is very good though. I can't think of any other wc african players. Jay Jay isn't on my list either.
