Who are known to have a reputation for scoring goals from long distances? Mention a team from the past and in present times and it can be a national team or a club.
The Dynamo Kiev sides of the 70s and 80s are one and in recent years, Lecce have regularly scored goals from more than 25 metres.

Holland in the 1978 WC scored a number of spectacular goals from long range.

The two against Zoff were killers. Knocked us out of the
final.

They try
Alan Smith tried to Beckham it from halfway
Though the only long range shot that was scored in Old Trafford last season didn't count as a goal

West Germany's world cup winning 1990 side certainly had some guys who could shoot from long range. I remember Mattheaus, Brehme, and I believe Littbarski as well all had quite a shot.

they weren't the greatest team or anything, but the mid-to-late '90's yugoslavia side has some real bombers
the current liverpool isn't bad with hamann, gerrard, riise, kewell and cisse

Maybe he took some shots from far distances but the goal he scored against Colombia which was his only goal for the tornament wasn't from long range. He had a good chance to score from long range in the final and his shot missed the goals by less than a metre.

You're right, it was in 1986 and most of them were Dynamo Kiev players.

You're probably thinking of the season that just finished because Kiev scored a few goals from long range. In the 2003-2004 season they only scored one or two from long range.
In the previous season, Bayer Leverkussen scored some beauties from far distances.

Especially Arie Haan's goal from 40 metres. From what I've heard, Zoff's excuse was that the sun was in his eyes.
