i am a turkish football lover and i exactly know what ribery tried to say when he claimed that he wanted to stay at marseille for a long period. he will eventually sell you out for much more money than he takes from marseille. he had claimed these words right before he left galatasaray. he had given his home keys to the GSclub and said that he would come back at the end of holiday. then he showed up at tvs when he was singing for marseille. when gs directors went to check his home, they were able to find anything. even his toothbrus. he is good player with non-character.
Try paying your players in Turkey. The guy hadn't seen a check in 6 months, contract was BROKEN. You try and go without pay for 6 months and we'll see where YOUR loyalty lies. Paleaseeeee...

first of all i am not a galatasaray fan and second of all i hate galatasaray. if you look at my profile page, you can see the name of fenerbahce. and if you dont know what rivalry is, rivalry is a game between fenerbahce and galatasaray. ribery's behaviour was exactly treachery. you shouldn't act against the club which took you from metz and made you popular around all europe. i wrote it and insist on it. He is a great player with non-character.

There is a reason that the UEFA tribunal let Ribery leave on a free. It was because he was no longer being paid by Gala..... What do you want the guy to do? He moves to the other end of Europe, performs brilliantly and his check are bouncing?

Robert Pires could return.
OM: and so Pires returned? (20/02)
At the end of the contract in Arsenal this summer, Robert Pires is more than ever near to a departure, his club worrying more about the case Henry that his. The refusal of Arsenal to prolong it for two seasons could encourage the international one to change air. If many clubs such Valence, Galatasaray are on the blow, the Olympic one of Marseilles could also enter in race. Passed with the OM between 1998 and 2000, Pires T-it will be tried by a come-back at 32 years? A thing is certain, its return in the city phocéenne will be conditioned by a considerable financial effort of its share, Marseilles which cannot assume its London wages. (By Nicolas Perched)

Diouf and Anigo have already said that they have a long-term plan to build a good team. That's the mission given to Jean Fernandez.

Marseille eye African talent
21 Feb 2006
Marseille are reportedly interested in signing AS Vita's Congo international Zola Matumona after the 24-year-old impressed French scouts during the African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Italian club Palermo have already been linked with the midfielder, however, Marseille have begun negotiations with his current club.
The French giants have also been linked with Ivory Coast star Yaya Toure and Cameroon international Alioum Saliou who currently ply their trade in Greece and Turkey respectively.

OM should push hard in offseason for Djibril Cisse, he's a bench player there and I think L'pool we'll go for a new striker for the next season since their attack hasnt een that good, Cisse and Morientes both havent showed what was expected from them.
Cisse would like a comeback in France

What's the name of the one commentator for French Soccer in today's game? (Against St. Etienne; he played in France, apparently; on FSC).

The news about the trial starting about embezzlement at OM is everywhere, but here's something interesting from the archives of cahiersdufootball about OM and their disastrous transfer policy: http://www.cahiersdufootball.net/article.php?id=2063
"... There's one main reason for this pathology: Marseille's recruitment is left to amateurs, successive managements usually relying on old cronies (Skoblar, Mozer) who probably look after their own interests. This year it's José Anigo who's left to do the job even if his only accomplishment to date is getting Matthieu Flamini out of the OM academy. Stories of recruitments decided upon after some dubious recommendation or looking at a cassette are countless, while a Bernard Lacombe piles up frequent-flyer miles spending his vacation between Brazil and Tola-Vologe. Sometimes one has the impression that it's France Football's special transfer edition that decides their annual priorities... and if the club still proudly claims "not just anybody can play for OM" one wonders why they keep signing just anybody. It's impossible to establish the real transfer balance, since sales and purchase amounts are not always divulged; for the health of OM's supprters it's probably best that way."
a list of the 119 players  that have passed through OM without staying in the past 5 seasons:
• 9 goalkeepers
Arphexad, Gavanon, Gentile, Grégorini, Köpke, Lemasson, Porato, Runje, Trévisan.

Camara, Christanval, Colleter, Coulibaly, Cyprien, Decroix, Diatta, Dimas, Domoraud, Dos Santos, Dumas, Ecker, Edson, Fernandes, Fischer, Gallas, Issa, Jambay, Jurietti, Laurenti, Leboeuf, Leo, Lizarazu, Marquet, Martin, Martini, N’Gotty, Pérez, Reina, Ribault, Rool, Skacel, Sommeil, Torrisi, Tuzzio, Van Buyten, Yobo.
• 39 midfielders
Adriano, André Luis, Ba, Battles, Belmadi, Bernardi, Brando, Brunel, Camus, Celestini, Cheyrou, Costa, S. Dalmat, W. Dalmat, De la Pena, Fiorèse, Flamini, Gourvenec, Guel, Hemdani, Ingesson, Johansen, Keita, Leroy, Luccin, Marsiglia, Marcelinho, Meriem, N’Diaye, Pedretti, Pirès, Racon, Rivera, Roy, Stankovic, Swierczewski, Teixeira, Vachousek, Yayahoui.

Marseille has become a goat breeder…That's Anigo's style: "Proud to be from Marseille".
As we say in French: "Ridiculousness isn't lethal…"

i personally believe that the french football association just does not like Marseille. i bet you that if they looked at PSG the same way they looked at Marseille, the same things would be found, but no. since Psg is the team of the capital, they get a break.
