What has happened to Gael Givet, I thought when they brought him in that he would pair up well with Rodriguez like in the Monaco days. Has his form really dropped off that much ? Was he that bad last season ?

I don't know. I think Gerets just sort of doesn't like him at this point. Maybe something like what happened with Ziani last season. I don't think he'd instantly fix our problems in the back, and a partnership between him and Hilton isn't ideal because of the lack of athleticism there..but he's just been getting completely ignored, only making the bench once that I can remember. I think there was even a game where we only had 6 on the bench instead of having Givet there (granted, this was mostly because Zubar was named to the squad hoping that he'd be able to play. but still).

Sell Givet in Jan. and give his salary slot to Jonathan Zebina of Juventus. He wants to leave there and is being linked with OM already. He's the same age as Hilton is. Sign this guy would help a lot.

Zebina has not done anything good since three years. He would be as much expensive and useless than Zenden.
I'd prefer Jan Verthongen from Ajax or Adil Rami from Lille.

L'OM is on Dieumerci Mbokani and Axel Witsel from Standard de Liège.

Mbokani has a pretty nice goalscoring record, but I don't know enough about him to know if this is good or not. Pretty awesome name, though.
I wonder how much Sand from Lanus would cost. He's been very good since he went there.

Jose Sand has a great lack of physical skills, I'm doubtful he'd be good in Europe.

i am so glad you guys are talking about axel witsel this kid has alot of talent for a 19 year real and arsenal want to bag this kids when he was 15years old we know this story and hear about this story alot !!!! duh! but he could be the next "thierry henry" for belgium .....13 goal for standard liege so far isn't that bad!!
i say why not if l'om can get this kid they need to really make him starter for l'om

I'm not interested in youngsters from the Belgian league. You need to try to win the title right now while its right there for the taking which is why I'd take Savidan and Zebina.

lanus, standard, cruz azul... même combat.
i'll admit delgado is looking OK right now, and he just might end up a useful part of OL's 22 man squad. but if you think there's a difference in level between L1 and the EPL or liga here we're looking at light years.
letting pagis go in the summer and buying savidan in january? forgetting givet in the back of the fridge and then finding something equally moldy in the bin behind the alpi? that would be sooooo OM.
i think the sainté and PSV matches show what this group can really do, so the less tinkering the better now. keeping taiwo is more important than bringing in anyone new.

The difficult thing is finding someone who is good, but willing to not necessarily start all the time (or even half the time). I guess that's what we were going for with Samassa, but he sucks. It seems like the most likely players who would fit that description would either be pretty young or pretty old. I'm still not against Pagis being brought back, if he wants to do it. And if we can get a solid young striker, well, that would be great.
I read that Everton may be willing to pay 6 million Euros for Zubar. That would be hilarious/awesome. As long as we got someone good to come. Okay. Maybe not so awesome after all.

A Van Buyten rumor has popped up again. Not really what we need in the back, probably. But he'd do a job, I suppose.

Givet : 125 000€ per month.
Zenden : 260 000€ per month.
If they get rid of them two, they can use the money for a good CB. However, I don't know when their contract expire.

Givet will probably leave in the winter. I don't know if Pana is still interested or not, but I think I read something about Nantes recently.
I'm pretty sure Zenden's contract is up at the end of the season.

Jean Claude Darchville wants to come. He's not even playing for Rangers that much.

Lorik is the captain and he's vital to the team.
