Tyrone Mears about to sign for Marseille.......what a strange transfer
I dream for years of an English player coming to France. For the prestige, even if he's a Graham Rix or a Chris Makin.
Waddle and Hoddle have let such grand souvenirs !

I just wish good foreigners would come. I dont really care where in Europe they come from.
Is Mears better than Bonnart I have no idea. I just wish they coulda signed a centre forward who's scored goals.

[...]Mears was so keen to go that the 25-year-old reportedly climbed through a window and crawled past Paul Jewell's office at the club's training ground to avoid seeing his manager.[...]

:D Great stuff.
Hopefully they can reach a compromise, if we're actually that interested. Although, yea, I don't actually have much of an idea on his quality .

I guess it's nice we got someone for that backup RB spot. Hopefully he ends up being this year's Krupo, and doesn't play much.

If Cana were to be sold in winter transfer or summer, how much would Marseille realistically ask for?
How much would they ask for him in winter and how much in summer?

Too much.
I know that sounds like a smartass answer, but they're going to ask for an unrealistic amount for him. I think 25 million was what was thrown around when it was last brought up.

He's also very loyal to the team and he's not looking to leave. I think Bayren Munich would be better off going after Jeremy Toulalan if they're looking for a DM.

How highly do you guys rate him as DM in Europe?

I'd say as high as a Flamini - but more with a Gattuso spirit.
Next year I want:
Out:
M'Bami
Taiwo
Cissé
Givet
Cesar
Civelli
Zenden
(Ziani ?)
In:
Cabaye
Pocognoli
Diakhaté
Gomis (but rumors are pointing Standard's striker Mbokani)
Sabo
Bocaly
(Feghouli ?)

The only thing I'd disagree with there is Taiwo. I don't want him out, but I think he'll probably leave anyway.

That's almost certain. It's already his 4th year at l'OM (it's an exploit). I think he's skilled to become one of the greatest LB in the world in the few years coming. Rumors about him are recurrent since 2005 (PSV had proposed an exchange with, I don't remember but Diouf declined). Juventus has always been hot on him. He's worth 10M. It's enormous for a LB.
Apart of Pocognoli, there are other great young players, as Emanuelson and Jérémy Mathieu whose contract finishes next year and who refused to prolong it. Lyon, Bordeaux, AS Roma and surely more great clubs are on him.

Ah, alright, I thought you were saying you actually wanted him gone. Yea, I think he can move onto one of the top level clubs (such as Juve, who were supposedly interested in him). He's become more consistent lately, and when he's on his game I think he's already among the best in the world at that position. I thought the rumors that Sunderland were interested were a bit funny, as I think he's way above that level already.
I've been a bit disappointed by Emanuelson recently, he hasn't improved as much as I thought he would.

Manchester City could be a good move. It's a good club with money to spend, and there are not many other top clubs who seem interested.

Maybe, though it seems like they've been looking at guys who are already superstars. That's probably mostly talk, though.
