He signed a 5 year contract and didnt even come close to fulfilling it. I'm still blaming manangement for his departure because they didnt do enough to convince him to stay and they have the power because he's under contract. Gerets should have said we need you and we're counting on you to help us instead of saying yeah you can leave if you want. Theres always the possibilty that he was sent packing to save money. I'm disapointed that he didnt want to stay and fight for his place at the club he supposedly loved. Everyone is the loser here. Cisse, Diouf, Gerets, the fans. No one wins.

I don't know.

I'm omehow happy that Cissé is going out for a bit.

He doesn't want to play in OM.So,go out and don't make things hard.

Now we have cash to get a Striker who wants to play in Marseille.

Thats false. Him leaving doesnt mean they bring in a player of similar value at that position. I would be shocked if they did. They are trying to save money over there.

Tulio De Melo would be the good solution. Or Ilan.

I think Tulio De Melo would be a very good solution. I've also seen some talk of Saha, although I don't know if that's at all realistic (you'd figure that if he were to come to Ligue 1, he'd at least want a guaranteed spot in the starting 11). I've also seen a few real young guys brought up, and then Diouf brought Gomis up in a half joke the other day.

Gomis would be very nice.

Lets see how Cisse does with Sunderland today.

Djib just scored to put Sunderland up 2-1. I was surprised how happy I was when he did.

^Not sure why you were happy when he quit on your team. Seeing him in another uniform made me angry especially since I remember what he said when he signed with OM.

I want to see him do well. All involved messed up the situation, not just him. Also, I'm kind of tired of hearing English fans underrate him.

It was weird to see when he came on, though.

Diouf said that its not the player who decides his future and then he lets the player(Cisse) decide. He lied about that. He was under a long term contract. They should not have granted his request to leave. Big mistake. Its too late in the transfer window to find someone who has a similar goal scoring track record. OM shows again why its a poorly managed club. If they werent planning on counting on him this season then they would have shipped him out a month ago. Cisse screwed them by requesting to leave after the Auxerre match. Both parties are at fault I agree and I hope both suffer because of it.

The odd thing about this for me is that I know Cissé is not at all a model professional, though I've always thought that he liked it at l'OM, that he had a love/hate relationship with Marseille. After all, he is from Arles, which is not too distant from the city.

Anyway, I have to agree with Sportboy that this is a huge loss given the context of L1 as well as even the Champions League as the depth at the striker position is nonexistent at the moment.

Sorry, I put this blame on Cisse. He is soo selfish, but this latest move is absurb. Leaving L'OM to play for Sunderland??? Passing up on Champion's League to play in the Carling Cup??? The dude is simply mad. I can't believe this is happening. All he had to do was to act as a professional. Did Juve, Madrid, or Chelsea come for his services??? Nope, cause they know what they would get. Sorry, lost for both sides in this situation. I wish the best for L'OM though. Man, they lost both Nasri & Cisse. The main question is how will L'OM replace those cogs in their machine:confused:

SportBoy333

Well they already signed Ben Arfa to compensate for Nasri but they will not be able to compensate for Cisse since it will be nearly impossible to find someone who scored 10-15 goals last year with only a week left in the transfer window. I agree with everything you said about Cisse actually. His behavior was definately unprofessional not to mention dumb. The team, the club of his heart, had high hopes this year and he just left them hanging for his own selfish reasons.

stupid move on cisse, this shows his heart was never in L'Om. i don't know what players are promised in EPL, but how can you miss a chance to play in the CL (or leave a club such as OM) for mid table club that finishes 15'Th. place

his lost my respect

Ha, now the somewhat inevitable Pauleta rumor is making the rounds. I'd be shocked if that happened.

Nope it will be Mamadou Samassa. Had 4 goals last year.

Well,we need to wait Winter,it seems.

At least it's a better time to buy South American players.

Nilmar (Internacional de Porto Alegre) who already played in Lyon could be a nice one.

marseille needs to put their players in better conditions, they can't afford to lose player like cisse like that, especially to a team like sunderland. they need to hold on to players a bit longer otherwise we won't archive anything. replacing them with unexperienced players is waist of money and won't do anything in the long run, unless if brought up in the academy, or replace them with better players. i hope this doesn't affect our brilliant start
