Roma made an offer for Cisse but it was rejected. If they prepare another offer and are willing to pay the 12 m asking price then he's gone. This f'n sucks !

Where did you see that? The last I'd seen Cissé and his agent had said that he didn't want to go to Italy, and his agent blamed the rumors on Djibril's brother. They were apparently only offering 7M then.

Maxifoot it said Roma's 8 m bid was rejected and said that they were going to prepare another bid according to an Italian newspaper. It said 12 m is the minimum asking price for him.
Cisse might not want to go to Italy but if any team anywhere bids the right amount that OM is asking for then dont they have to sell him regardless if he wants to stay in France ?

Oh, okay. Hmm...hopefully it's not true, but 12M-15M is what has been said all along. Yesterday Gerets said he thought Cissé would end up staying...hopefully he's right.

I'm not confident about anyone staying untill the transfer window is slammed shut. I will be nervous about the Cisse situation as long as the window is still open.

I read about Cisse possibly going to Man City today.
I swear to god, when the hell is this sh*t going to end !?!?!? This stuff is a major turnoff to someone who likes the sport.

In the Albanian media Lorik Cana has expressed that he is very unhappy about the way Marseille has been this year in the offseason. He said he is very hungry to win a major title with Marseille, but has questions on the ambitions of this club. he was asked if he will close his career at Marseille and he brought up the point that he is very hungry for a major title at marseille and said that if Marseille fails to build a team thats going to challange for a major title soon he doesnt see himself playing forever at the velodrome. He also said that he will not play for another French team but Marseille.

Taiwo is going to Man City also?

“We wish Taiwo well because we are aware that aside attitude of the his club, he is also entangled in possible transfer to Manchester City this summer but when the need to attain the 75% national team duty requirement by British Home Office to get him work permit, players like him will be looking up to NFF to come to his aid. We are waiting till then,” revealed the top administrative staff to the team on telephone chat with THISDAYSports last night.

No...at least, everything he's said has indicated that he wants to stay. The Nigerians are just pissed at OM. I've learned to pretty much not trust anything about Ligue 1 that's written in English.

I may have to start doing that then...

I knew it ! When he didnt start the first 2 matches or vs Brann I knew something was up. Typical player, would rather play for a bad team just for the sake of more playing time rather than try to be part of a championship team.

We better get someone in the next 10 days. 1.5 strikers simply isn't enough.

If they get someone it will be someone who's mediocre and they'll be riding the bench. If not then why not just keep Cisse then. They wont get anyone good who will be willing to be a sub. This is one reason why Ligue 1 sucks ass. If this was England they could keep a player of his salary on the team. Cisse is one of the highest salary players in Ligue 1 and because of that he needed to start most of the time.

I agree that I'd rather have Cisse stay, but he wanted to leave. I'd guess that Gerets already knew that this was in the works, and maybe that's why he didn't start him in the last couple games. As long as it's not another Moussilou, we don't need anyone particularly great to come in, just someone as another option uptop. Someone like Pagis would be nice (someone young and upcoming would be great, obviously, but I doubt that will happen now).

Its still a bad move. He would have gotten plenty of opppurtunities here to contribute. Why just throw away 16 goals just because a player is unhappy. Its too bad he didnt care about winning a title. I keep hearing about how OM is such a great club and how great the fans are yet you have guys like Nasri and Cisse who had a good chance to win something here for the first time in 15 years and that didnt mean anything to them.

Different players have different priorities. Cisse's family was supposedly a big reason for him to move to England. Nasri was always going to move on...I don't expect him to stay at Arsenal too long, either. I think he wants to eventually play in Spain or Italy. For some players the atmosphere does make a difference, and at least helps us hold onto them longer, but ultimately the best players are going to move on because of the current level of Ligue 1. The hope is that they actually step up if they move, and that's the frustrating thing about players going to Sunderland or Manchester City or Bolton....they aren't really of a higher level than the clubs the players are leaving.
