There's not money to buy anyone good. Better to buy Maoulida and keep Ribery and Nasri than to sell those guys and then buy somebody like Cisse.
that is very true but then what happened to all the Drogba money, and 50,000 ppl per game that must generate some money?

Gimenez was some of it. Much of the Drogba money was used to pay debts as well, IIRC.

Walter Pandiani and Pagis from Strasbourg are both rumored targets and they arent too bad.

Giminez was such a good player with Basel. Him and Rossi were lethal.

I just don't get it. He's no spring chicken, but maybe he just isn't get the breaks up front, or there is no-one helping him up there.

Mendoza is utter crap, and fell out with the staff in Donetsk. Marseille would be stupid to take up the purchase offer at the end of the season.

Bonnissel is a stop gap measure whilst Taiwo is at the CAN in Egypt. Ditto Maoulida for Niang. Actually I'm a big fan of Toifilou's, I like his style of play.

I've always thought that Koke has been pretty good for us. He did well when he got the chance to start last season. Pretty impressive that Juve thinks well of him. I much prefer him to Gimenez or Mendoza.

Koke is it for Juventus Monday 16 January, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus have agreed to sign striker Sergio Koke from Marseille, according to reports in Spain.

The Spaniard, who turns 23 in April, has scored just once in nine games for the French side but, according to Spanish daily Marca, is in Turin to agree terms today.

"I couldn’t be happier," enthused Koke. "I haven’t signed anything yet but, if all goes well, this will be a great opportunity for me. Playing in Italy will be a dream come true."

Koke, who scored five times in 25 appearances in Ligue 1 last season, joined Marseille from Malaga in December 2003 and is considered a hot prospect for the future.

If the four-year deal goes through, he is expected to be immediately sent on loan to Siena until the end of the season in order to continue his development.

Pretty strange from Juve, really. He hasn't been very effective for l'OM, even when he did get consistent starts last season. I don't really mind him leaving, as long as the fee is good. Niang, Maoulida, Pagis, and Gimenez are sufficient for now.

You guys are being a little harsh on Mendoza. I agree, a tree is more alive or smarter than this guy. His personality is crap, and everybody knows this in Peru. Even from his days in Peru to his days in Club Brugge and Ukraine. But there's one thing I dont agree with and that he's a not a good player. He may be driven by feelings ane emotions, but that doesn't mean he sucks. I wish he had a grip on his personality, it would so much better for his career.. he could've been a different player if he were a little smarter. It's a shame that such talent went to waste. As a matter of fact, everybody in Peru have given up on him a LONG time ago. The only way he's playing in the Peru NT again is if 3 other strikers before him get injured... the only way.

Me too. If he wants to play at the WC, he'd do well to move to the Velodrome.

Marseille are financially struggling at the moment. If they wanna capture him, it's gotta be in the form of loan since they don't have the means to buy him out..

Official: Koke loaned to Sporting Lisbon
Marseille’s young Spanish striker Sergio Contreras Pardo “Koke” has been loaned for six-months with option to buy, to Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon.

After the departure of Dmitri Sytchev to Lokomotiv Moscow, OM went looking for an extra forward to ac as cover. Proposed as a new hope for Spanish football Koke arrived from Malaga in January 2004.
At first on loan from January to May, Koke signed a three-year deal with OM on the strength of his performances, deemed promising enough by the club.
The next season he disputed 24 matches, scoring five goals. Unfortunately, injuries prevented him from finding consistency in his matches. The niggling physical problems, most notably to his shoulder continued throughout the 2005-06 season.
With the arrival of Mamadou Niang, Christian Giemenez and more recently Toifilou Maoulida and Mickaël Pagis, Koke, little by little, lost his place in the starting line-up, despite scoring a great goal against Lille.

And so he jets off to the Portuguese first division and the colours of Sporting Lisbon, currently fifth in the standings, nine points adrift of leaders FC Porto.

Olivier Kapo is on loan at Monaco and he said on Canal + that he doesnt plan on staying after June. Perhaps OM should take a look at him.

i am a turkish football lover and i exactly know what ribery tried to say when he claimed that he wanted to stay at marseille for a long period. he will eventually sell you out for much more money than he takes from marseille. he had claimed these words right before he left galatasaray. he had given his home keys to the GSclub and said that he would come back at the end of holiday. then he showed up at tvs when he was singing for marseille. when gs directors went to check his home, they were able to find anything. even his toothbrus. he is good player with non-character.

I'm sure no player wants to play for a club that hires a thug and tries to threaten its player, treating him like a damn cattle.

Ribery wasn't getting paid on regular basis, and obviously the club you support mistreated him and didn't show him much respect that he probably deserved.
