According to Wikipedia, Pizarro makes 5 mil a year annually at Chelsea  so he'd have to take a huge paycut to come to France and I highly doubt he'd be willing to do that. Plus he's 29 and OM need a younger forward.

And he's not that good. ;)

I say we buy a few young french players. Our top priority should be Yoann Gourcuff from AC Milan. He was seen as a huge prospect when he signed from Caen, but he was not given many first team opportunities, and when did he failed to cement his spot. Then sign Rio Antonio Mavuba from Villarreal. He is a great young player and he has not shown his full potential at Villarreal. After that, it is vital to sign a good striker. Maybe Menez from Monaco or maybe Anthony Le Tallec when he returns to Liverpool? They're both promising strikers and would fit into our system well.

Marseille Team 2008/2009:

Mandanda

Givet Rodriguez Taiwo

Mavuba

Valbuena Gourcuff Zenden

Nasri

Niang Cisse

Subs: Le Tallec/Menez, Carrasso, Cheyrou, Akale, Kabore

P.S Cana might be sold to big club.

Those aren't bad ideas, but a few corrections, if I may.

Gourcuff didn't play at Caen, I think that you likely have him confused with Yoann Gouffran, also of the same caliber.

Mavuba has been loaned out to Lille where he's actually doing very well, I don't know what Villareal intend to do with him, though we can't put the "underachieving season" label on him anymore.

Ménez is drawing attention from the likes of Inter, Arsenal, etc. which I doubt you all are able to compete with.

I think if there's one area which has to be upgraded, it'd be the defense.

I have read that Cana doesn't want to leave. Also, Milan wants Nasri in exchange for Gourcuff. Anthony Le Tallec is a waste. I highly doubt Zenden would be a 1st team regular next year when he isnt even one this year.

Sorry, I did get mixed up with Gourcuff and Gouffran. Well Mavuba has had a good season with Lille, but he wasn't getting many chances at Villarreal. If he were to return to Villarreal and then be put up for sale, I say we have to at least put our offer on the table. I hope to God that we don't sell Nasri. But I suppose it will happen eventually.
True we do need to improve the defense. I think one of the main problems is at RB. We sold our number one RB to Newcastle, and we haven't looked as good since. I don't really have many ideas but supposedly Willy Sagnol is looking to leave Bayern and could be interested in a move back to France.

Not a problem. :) Actually, the 2 Yoanns are in the same Espoirs (U-21) team as well, so it is easy to get them mixed up. To make matters worse, there's also Yohan Cabaye of Lille, though he isn't as assured a member of the team as the other two.

Obviously I think Sagnol would be the ideal choice at right back for any team in France. Will his ASSE (Saint-Etienne) days cause him to refuse any OL/OM/PSG offer? We will definitely see this offseason.

Oh, and I don't think that right back is the only position where there's a bit of an issue. Givet/Rodriguez are not the same players they were when they were at Monaco.

I think that we have to hold onto at least Taiwo in the summer from the big clubs. I would really really like to have Nasri staying but we would face a huge battle to keep him. Our defence looked poor against Zenit St. Petersburg, so maybe a few enforcements there. BTW, do we have much depth at striker?

Sagnol does not like Marseille and is unaffordable for any French club.

Youre probably right Catel but I'm still not 100 % convinced he'd wouldn't take a paycut to come to OM.

Pascal Cygan will be available this summer lol

i don't see any player at OM being indispensable except cissé and niang who give the team confidence they can score against anyone... on their day.

nasri? if diouf can drive a hard deal, samirdollars + valbuena will be of more use than the two players together.

taiwo? there are a lot of taiwos out there, again the question is getting max price for him.

the key is to get max bux for mini disturbance to a group that will jell sooner or later and my guess is sooner. if anyone offers 10 for valbuena, the answer is take nasri for 30. the same for bonnart, cheyrou, etc. taiwo.

sagnol? why not lizarazu? oh, you've already tried that! :p

I agree, actually. My only problem is that I don't really trust Diouf and co. to do well with the money if Nasri, or anyone else, does get sold.

Valbuena doesnt want to leave. Playing for OM is gonna get him get on Les Bleus and Im sure he's very grateful for that. Nasri isnt ready to start full time for a super club type team and I doubt they will get rediculously high offers for him this summer.

Taiwo I might be worried about, I saw him make some comments the other day about playing abroad. I hope there dont give up on Ziani yet because there's enormous talent there.

They are linking OM with Miralem Pjanic.
If you still haven't heard from this kid, then you better open up your eyes (ears).. Last night against Lyon he was by far the best player on the pitch, just turned 18. Pretty much every big club in the world is after him, but he has said that he would prefer to play another year or so in France.

They are linking OM with Miralem Pjanic.(…)

During the last 3 days Marseille has been linked with Miralem Pjanic, Hatem Ben Arfa, Yohann Gourcuff, and 4 or 5 other players…

Can't wait for the mercato :D

Bernard Lacombe and Jean-Michel Aulas have spent some time after that game to talk with Pjanic…

Lyon is now officially chasing that player…

OM also seem to be chasing Bafe Gomis from St. Etienne and Florent Balmont from Nice.

There were Gomis rumors during January...he's only 22, and he's done pretty well with ASSE. Dubbed the new Drogba, which I guess is a bonus. But there are a few other clubs interested, and the price will probably be high.
