The newest crap Ive read is Niang to Manchester City and Cisse to Bolton to replace a departing Anelka. Yeah I think theres about a zero percent chance of these happening.

Yeah I think theres about a zero percent chance of these happening.niang to city is not surprising... they've already bought messi, kaka, gerrard, drogba, pirlo, crouch, totti... in the redtops anyway.

cissé to bolton would be strange: they're unloading anelka because they need the money, and cissé would not be a cheap replacement in their budget or a useful one on the field.

If Bolton want a French player to replace Anelka they'd be better off going with Baros. I highly doubt Cisse would go there at this time but I bet Baros would jump at the chance.

Or we could try selling Piquionne to them.

He's probably way down the pecking order on their wish list.

bolton's going to have to find the replacement for anelka in eastern europe or one of the hottentot leagues, greece, holland, portugal... even a championship player would be too dear for them...

too bad for them that the CAN's on, or that they couldn't find south america on a globe, much less have scouts there...

as far as french strikers go, i think their choices would be limited to fiorèse and dalmat.

I read that Arrache will be departing. That seems plausible.

I was kinda shocked when I saw this. I didnt expect Lens to be a possible destination for him though I dont think he is leaving.

Hmmm, Djibril's best days came when he wasn't at a club in a big city (Auxerre), so who knows. The guy definitely has to play somewhere, though, he has to get on those Adidas commercials again.

"I am Djibril Cissé, and this is my story. I broke both my legs in the span of 2 years, everybody in every stadium booed me, and the hairstyles I wore while wearing the orange OM jersey made me appear worse than Britney Spears at the VMA. Then I joined Lens which I'm told is a city somewhere in the north of France. There wasn't anything to do there, so all I could do was to wear their colors as a hairstyle, though I appeared even more of a clown than usual. They then got relegated from the league. Then I decided to join PSG. You will go through tough times, it's about getting through them."

I am a fan of his and want to see him succeed at this current team. If they unload him there is no way they can get someone who's significantly better.

I want to see him at OM too. That way, it's more fun.

Actually, we may have to go against him this weekend since Niang may be out, which could be difficult since our defenders don't deal well with speed (look at what Nancy did with Dia and Kim). So I'll save the crappy humor for another day. :)

Bafe Gomis is on the radar.

I hope they overspend for him. :)

Though on another note, if it happens, I fully expect the Vélodrome will dub him "le nouveau Drogba." After all, their physical similarities are there.

Yea, I doubt he'll come without overpaying. He was on the radar of Chelsea and Arsenal last year, supposedly. I'd rather go after one of the Argentine strikers that have been mentioned.

Do you really believe Cisse is leaving ? I dont. Why would they give up on a player who cost them 11 million only 6 months later. Makes no sense. They arent a superclub who are sitting on piles on money who can just dump anyone they want without a care about finances.

No, not at all. It would be absurd. I truly believe that Cisse will have a turn in form at some point, will start scoring goals in the second half of the season, and hopefully will also give the team a lift in the UEFA Cup (didn't want to give today's result away, just in case). Plus, they wouldn't get anywhere near equal return on the investment. Of course, Marseille have tended to specialize in stupid transactions. So maybe its not so farfetched after all

Anyway, even if Cisse stays (which I think and hope he will, as I said) I do think another striker is necessary, just because there is absolutely nothing there after Cisse. I mean, if Cisse does start playing well, and regains a place in the starting 11, with Niang moving to the left, there wouldn't be anyone available to come off the bench. Or the incoming player could go uptop, moving Niang to the left, and leaving Cisse as the option off the bench. I think the best case scenario for the attack is:

*-----------Nasri------------Niang

-----------Cisse/TBD-------------

*Valbuena, Ziani, or Zenden, with the other two coming on the bench. This would also allow Ayew to go out on loan.

Djibril Cissé has signed a 5 year contract so he'll be Marseilles' Marco Simone :D

As long as RLD will be the owner l'OM won't win anything...

Happy to see Diouf has thought of Piquionne. I would swap him for Faty in a heartbeat.
