I hate the fact he is leaving for a team not in the Champions League. Bayern are a huge club but Ribery made such a big deal over CL qualification it is now a kick in the face.
suppose the $$$ does all the talking, reports saying he getting 300,000 Euro a month in wages.
So now he's making less in Bayern? He must've been dumber than I thought.

Stupid. Just stupid.
I hope Bayern finish mid-table if he leaves. He doesn't deserve CL football if he doesn't want to stay and enjoy it with Marseille.

Hoeneß & the Marseille GM(Diouf).
There's already a agreement between Bayern & Ribery.
The transfer should be finalized in the next 2-3 days.

The funny thing about it is that he'll be sitting at home watching Marseille play in the Champions League Tuesday and Wednesday and play in the UEFA Cup on Thursday himself, since Bayern didn't qualify for the Champions League.
But on the other hand, he would be making 'Cristiano Ronaldo' type money in Munich, and right now, only Bayern pay that much.

What I can't believe is the fact that Marseille gave in so easily this time. Why sell him now, now that they finally can look forward to playing in the Champions League? It's like they've been keeping him for nothing.

Agreed. How are we to mount a real challenge to Lyon if our best players are sold?

The official word is that Bayern officials have been in Marseille today to bring the talks about the transfer to an end. There will be another meeting during the week, Marseille apparently thinks the talks are going well, and if the transfer is fixed during the next meeting, they will give Ribery the green light to go to Munich on Thursday and do the medical test.

Yea Ribery makes absolutely no sense. I was looking forward to your lot overtaking Lyon too.
Apparently you're getting Giuly to replace him. Not bad.

I find all this talk about him playing in the UEFA Cup rather than in the CL with Marseille so silly.
First of all, he'll be back in the CL next year with the squad Bayern has built over the summer.
Second, they have a great chance at winning the UEFA Cup, that would mean a medal is more likely for Ribery in his first year in the UEFA Cup than with Marseille in the CL.
As a Marseille fan, its sad to see RIbery go, but if it wasn't Bayern, it would have been Lyon, Arsenal or Madrid. Bayern were just on top of things with this transfer and came out on top.
In any case, it's not officially done just yet. So don't get all hot and bothered about Bayern until it is.

The point is that he said he would stay if we qualified for the CL. Now not only is he leaving, but it's for a team that won't even be playing in the CL this season.
The point that you'll be in the CL again season after next is not a good one. If that were an issue, he could stay with us, and leave next season if we don't qualify again.
Ribery is selling out, and the management is showing once again that they don't really have much interest in restoring the glory days at the Vel.

Hm...I don't know.Of course Ribery is very good player, but wait : what if Valbuena starts to play very well and we buy some nice players with these 16 mi Euros?
I think they are right to sell Ribery. And if we really get Giuly, that would be sweet IMO.

25 million euros, and an attack that will possibly include both Giuly and Nasri?
that's not bad at all.

Somebody on page 25 posted an article from goal.com that Marseille will look to compensate the loss of ribery by picking up giuly. It's a rumor, but not a bad start or choice. Ludovic has better footballing iq than Franck, and will probably help Nasri out a lot. He also has extensive CL experience with Monaco - also a plus.
*also i just read similar rumors on some fansites. in any case, i would really love to see him in Ligue 1 again even if it's OM that picks him up.
