Disagree. If OM are ever to reach another CL final or compete with Lyon for Le Championnat, they need to be able to keep their young talent. Ribery stays.

In a perfect scenario obviosuly. But Ribery has already made his mind about leaving with going out to the press says he wants away from Marseille. He's got no loyalty to the club except that he signed a contract, seeing as he came on free transfer he actually he says done more then enough for OM with the transfer fee coming up. Diouf wants to save facewi the media and fans and say that Ribery will stay in Marseille due to the contract to 2010 but in reality he'll sell if he gets a good offer outside of France.

I'm more worried about selling or trading Taiwo in a bad deal now.

we can not let Ribery and Taiwo go without very strong replacements. I think Cisse If healthy from Oct on with be very hight on the scoring charts we keep these two players or replace them with like quality and we should be good for a chamions league spot.

It's hard to think of a winger and a left-back of similar quality to Ribery and Taiwo that would be willing to play for any club in France besides Lyon. It's unfortunate, but that's the reality. There is a surplus of talent in the market thanks to the Italian relegations, but it's hard to see any of those sort of players being ready to play for a less prestigious club like l'OM.

Ribery was hardly a winger at the end of last season when Jean Fernandez implemented his new 4-3-3 formation into the team. He played in the center alongside Lamouchi while Niang and Maoulida were playing on separate sides to support Pagis up top.

In that sense, you guys have no winger to replace but a central attacking midfielder which is you've already got. Samir Nasri! :D This kid is brilliant!!! Let him play, I say. No need for a recruit.

As for the Taiwo case, I think Cantareil can be a decent replacement down the left-hand side. He's been the CFA captain for some time and played brilliantly in that game against PSG earlier this year. Give him a try. He's readier than ever! ;)

Both are exciting prospects, but not the sort of players you want to be counting on to produce at this level. Nasri is more ready than Cantareil, but it's certainly possible that either or both could end up a bust.

If we sell both decent money should be coming in... we should be able to use that on some type of ready replacements logically..

I think that the aquisition of a high quality player such as Cisse should convince players like Ribery and Taiwo that the club is serious about winning now.

Diof is insisiting that Ribery and taiwo are staying... and we're being linked with Boumsong again..

You have to build around Ribery to have a successfull team. Maybe he will see that they are trying to do that and want to stay.

NO! No no no no no no no. I don't care what he did at Auxerre. This guy and Silvestre were probably the two worst defenders in the Premier League last season. Honestly.

One bad season does not a bad player make.... the Premiership and Ligue one are very different in terms of style of play. Boumsong could not hurt us it's not like we have 100 percent world class in our defense as it stands at the moment.

Huth and Onyewu are both available. They'd each probably cost about the same as Boumsong, and they're both WAY better. I'm not saying that Boumsong would be a horrible acquisition, but I am saying that there are many options that are far superior.

What about Onyewu? I think he'd be a good pick-up and it'd be good for him too. He's playing in Belgium and he was at Metz before, so the language/culture transition shouldn't be a problem.

Boumsong's play was just unprofessional at the end of last season. He's way past his prime imo.

The latest rumor is Igor tudor if Boumsong doesn't work out. I think football fans in general are way too fickle and only ever remember last season I remember how great Frank Le Bouef was for Chelsea for a few seasons then he ended on a poor note and people still make Le Bouef jokes sometimes... If Boumsong comes and has a solid seaon he'll be a hero again and it will be a miralacoulous resurection and a comeback blah blah blah he's still young and I'd have him in the team in a second. Again who do we have int the back that's head and shoulders above except maybe Taiwo?

Newest story is that boumsong is too expensiv eand we're going for a swiss defender instead also trying to swap for Diarra from Lens.

Yes, it's Ludo Magnin. I think he's a left full back (Taiwo's position).
Yet Valencia have agreed a deal to bring Del Horno from Valencia, so that rules them out of signing Taiwo---so who's after Taiwo?
I wouldn't mind signing Diarra.

Over on my home board they're all jabbering about Taiwo. I'm not sure if there's really been heavy linkage in the press, but everyone is convinced that it will either be Ashley Cole or Taiwo replacing Del Horno at Chelsea.

Mourinho is too clever to pay millions for taiwo. the only footballing ability of taiwo is to kick the ball as hard as he can and feed the spectators in the stands instead of crossing the ball to pagis (and scoring 2 or 3 free kicks a year). moreover, he is not a safe defender (for exemple, remember stade de france against PSG ?).
I would be happy to see him walk away if only I was confident with OM's ability to spend milions of euros in a good righ back with all the package skills a right back needs : speed, good in defense and very good in crossing the ball to the forwards. but well with pape diouf and anigo "le bouffon", I do not expect anything good.
